Has Any One Tried the Slurp and Burp Nursing Cover?

I am looking for a good gift for my sister who is having her first child. She is very modest and really wants to breast feed her child. I have read about the slurp and burp and thought it was great idea. I read on the mommy mandy blog that they are offering 50% off with the code "thanks". It sounds like a great deal! I appreciate any feed back about the product.

What can I do next?

Nope and I never used any covers. If your sister is modest, the best thing I did was go to a changing room in one of the mall stores or have my back to mostly everyone somewhere...

Believe me, all modesty goes out the window after the baby's born. Baby's hungry and wants to eat, she's going to feed the baby...

These covers are more trouble than they're worth. It's one extra thing to bring with you and is it worth it? Nope. A blanket is just fine in a pinch...

I had a bebe au lait nursing cover and I loved it. It had great coverage, was stylish and very easy to tote around. Plus, it has boning at the neckline so you can see your baby while they're nursing. I think I might have felt more exposed with the slurp and burp since it's so tight against the body, but that's just my opinion.

I have not tried it. I usually nurse in public by just lifting my shirt. But I have seen some used. Just be careful of the color or pattern. Sometimes they are more attention getting than just using a small blanket. You usually have a baby blanket with you that you can just drape over your shoulder & not have to lug around a special cover up.
I do love that you want to give a gift that encourages breastfeeding. You may want to look at getting some nursing clothes for her. There are tops that are designed with concealed openings so that you can nurse more discreetly. I personally found that nursing pajamas were a must. There are several catalogs & websites for nursing clothes. Best of luck
Good luck

this poster is lying. OK, look, im a honest fair person so i think is it completely horrible of you to pretend to be asking moms their opinion when in reality you are advertising YOUR OWN PRODUCT for your own financial gain. i mean really, to push your product on this mommy board by lying is disgraceful. im in no way bashing your product, but you could have just added a link on your name and replied to genuine posts to advertise instead of outright lying.

HERE IS YOUR OTHER POST ON MAMASOURCE REGARDING YOUR OWN INVENTION OF THE SLURP AND BURP-

"Is your idea patentable? I'm not sure that a costume is. If not, you need to find a cut/sew person to make your design or do it yourself. Then you need to approach companies with your samples and business info and try to get them to place an order. You need to present yourself in the most professsional manner since it is very difficult to speak to a buyer once let alone again.

If your idea is patentable, here is the name of an attorney who has been very helpful to me when I went through the patent/trademark process in developing Slurp & Burp:

I used a nursing cover called "The Peanut Shell". They sell them at Babies R Us and they are very reasonable and they come in a few different patterns. I would highly recommend this because it's so much easier than a blanket. It hooks around your neck and doesn't rest on the baby's face while he/she's nursing. Also, it folds up small so it's easy to fit in a loaded diaper bag.

I used a nursing cover also. It was kind of like a cape that went around both of us. I used a blanket when my son was really small, but once he started moving around, he would pull the blanket right off. I nursed every place, Ranger games, Islander Games, places to eat and even in church during his Christening and nobody ever knew. I got mine at Baby's R Us and it was a plain black cape. Sorry I can't remember the name of the company, but it should be right by the nursing/feeding aisle. Hope this helps!

I second the baby au lait, though its more pricey. But considering your sister is very modest, the baby au lait might be better. I was a lift my shirt kinda Mom and nursed everywhere. Covers werent my thing, though I did nurse in slings and wraps often. You might want to consider that too...dual function. Wear baby and nurse. I recommend Maya wrap and Moby wrap. Good luck!
