Hi everyone! I'm wondering if any of you have any suggestions on a good, not too pricey hand vacuum. Dust buster, dirt devil, ...anything. I would just like it for a quick cleanup of pet hair, playdoh cleanup, and other small jobs without having to get out the big vacuum! Any thoughts on good ones or not so good ones would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
C.

I have a dustbuster but it will only pick up the loose things and has a very small containment unit. It's virtually useless if I'm looking to get dog hair off the couch...just not enough suction.

Dustbusters work pretty well as long as you get a "strong" one. Ours is 9.6 volts. I would recommend this or higher (especially if you want to pick up hair). Target had a 15+ volt one on sale last week for $35. I considered getting it for our basement carpet.

I have the Dirt Devil Cone and I love it. I use it all the time, especially because of our dog. I am not sure of price, I recieved it as a gift. It is definitely worth it, though.

Hi C., I have and love my Eureka Cordless QuikUp. It is battery powered and the battery lasts through the whole house. I have a black lab so I needed something for all the hair and had tried several but this one I found to work really well. In fact, I use it just about every day on carpets and laminate flooring. Target carries it for about $40. Hope this helps.

Not sure how much you are looking to spend but I have a Dyson hand vac that works great. The charge doesn't last too long but it doesn't really need to with quick things.

I got a Shark and it quit working pretty soon after I got it. Wouldn't recommend it.

I'm not sure of the model etc... But we have a Dirt Devil that's a plug in, it's Red and has a Read attachable bag on it that's red with the logo all over it. It works awesome on the cat hair!!! Pretty similar to this model http://www.dirtdevil.com/Products/productDetail.aspx?id=1... except ours doesn't have the side hose.... Anyhow, good luck!

i got a electrolux pronto (2 in 1) as a gift last year, and i love it. it has a small hand vac and then essentially an electric broom. don't know how much it was as it was a gift, but totally worth it. i use it all the time for the same reason you are looking for one.

Whatever you get, make sure you run the battery down each time before plugging it back in to charge or it won't be as handy as you'd hoped. I have a black and decker that was great until the battery lost its memory from being on the charger all the time. FYI: the cleanable filter is a nice feature.
