Hello MoMs! I am having trouble finding a fun halloween punch/drink for kids and still keeping to my wants as a parent for my child. Here is the deal my son is 2 and he has never had any caffiene, kool aide etc. He drinks milk, water, and 100 percent juice. I want to make a fun halloween punch but want it to where my child can drink it too. Everything i have found has soda in it. Even if it is just for one night and i don't want him to have it, one night turns into more. Any ideas of what I can make? I don't mind other goodies like ice cream being in the mix but I stand by my caffeine rule! Thanks in advance for all the help!

What can I do next?

The recipe i've used and is requested all the time by the teens who come to my house is orange sherbet and ginger ale.

I have no idea about caffiene. I have other things a little more important that that to worry about with teens.

apple juice 2 46 oz cans

pineapple juice 2 46 oz cans
lemonade (frozen) 1 6 oz
1 cup sugar

this can be frozen , and mixed with ginger ale (freeze 1/2) and put in punch bowl, add frozen and ginger ale.

Very good and this is easy to double for color add some cherries, for the kids you can even add some gummy worms. Make a ring and add them to that.

This site has two that maybe worth looking into ...

Or what about making your own fruit punch coctail or one you LIKE your child to have, use some of it (watered down) to make ice cubes w/ peices of fruit in them. Cut up the fruit (can be a little bit larger then the cube slot if sliced thinly) then water down the juice 50/50 or 40/60 depending on the coloring you want for the cubes and freeze w/ saran wrap over them the night before the party or event the weekend before really. then Serve in your punch bowl with the "fun ice cubes" for the kids.

The lemon lime sodas; 7 up, Sprite and Sierra Mist are caffeine free, as well as ginger ale.
You can also do club soda. The best way to make a punch with club soda since it has no flavor is to mix it with a 100% fruit juice concentrate from the freezer section.
I just did a punch for my son's bday that consisted of club soda, a 100% orange pineapple concentrate, and different colored sherbets.

Frozen concentrated 100% Juice with club soda works great. Add some dollops of sherbert and use frozen fruits for ice. Dry ice to make it smoke is always fun as well.

alot of the recipes call for sprite..which does NOT have caffeine in it... buy some orange sherbet and a 2 liter of sprite and make an orange punch and get some black plasic spider rings to throw in the punch bowl!
also him just having some caffeine free soda in punch once does not mean it will be an "all the time" thing! hth!

There is no caffeine in Sprite! I think that's appropriate, my kids are 3 and 2 and we only do juice, milk, and water as well. A gingerale would be good to!

My best friend got our family hooked on ginger ale or sprite with lime sherbet. We were looking for something for a punch for my son's 4th bday and wanted it to match his fav color- green! Worked great! I just looked for low sugar options for the sherbet & used diet soda for less sugar.
I think for halloween you could also use dry ice to make it smoke or make some cool ice cubes from gloves or they also now have lots of little silicone molds which would be neat. hmmmm... just though of melting the sherbet slightly & refreezing into a mold... could be so cool!

I would use 100% juice, and seltzer to give it some bubbles, then put fresh fruit slices in it. You could even freeze the fruit in cube (or chunks) to keep the punch cold. 7-Up uses natural flavors and has no caffeine, but if it's important to you to not use soda, then don't! My son is 9 and I still don't let him have soda, except the occasional 7-Up. (And I buy the small cans so he isn't even getting a full can.)

Seltzer is just water and bubbles, no caffeine no sugar nothing! I love adding seltzer to my regular juices, it adds water, and a refreshing lift of bubbles.

You could also freeze some juice of another flavor in a jello mold and put that in the punch.

Here is one I make all the time for baby showers, friend get togethers and even New Years Eve and it's always a huge hit. If you are making this for adults, just substitute Champagne for the Ginger Ale and it turns out great.

Fruit Punch (Hawaiin or other brand)
Orange Juice
Ginger Ale
Pineapple Juice (optional)

Mix equal parts of above except for 1/2 the pineapple juice and cut up think lemon and orange slices to float on top. It is really good and the ginger ale is caffeine free. At times I will freeze berries in ice cube trays with the fruit punch and throw into the punch when we are ready to serve it.
For the Halloween theme, you could get small plastic spides and freeze them in ice cube trays (after washing of course) and then let them float in the punch.

Ginger ale has no caffeine in it, nor does 7-UP. Not all root beer has it either. You can use white grape juice and maybe some orange to make it a pretty halloween color. Bubbly mineral water with some of the fruit flavored syrups in it makes Italian Soda without caffeine. My kids loved that, and the drinks are pretty.

We used to do sparkling juice.

Pick the natural juice you like and add a splash of sparkling water.. Make sure it does not have any sodium or sweetners..

you can put a 100% juice in a punch bowl (favorite flavor or red for spooky effect) and just add club soda for fizz - it has no sugar, and very little taste, not even any calories. If you don't want any fizz (my kids say it's too spicy! lol) you can make cool ice cubes: put water in a plastic glove (UNpowdered), tie closed like a water balloon, and freeze. the ice will look like spooky hands floating in the punch.
