K.M.
We have a black and white cat that my hubby got at halloween and he named her Trick but I call her Tricky.
A kitten came to us yesterday. She is a siamese girl, and we are trying to think of a cute halloweenish or fallish name for her. I would prefer the name to end in "y" or "ie" as our other pets are Monkey, Lucky, Trixie and Winn Dixie. Any suggestions?
You ladies came up with more ideas that I would have ever thought of, THANK YOU!! We held a family conference, the votes are in, and the winner is . . . . Bookitty!
Here is how we came to have her: We live in the country, and Wednesday when I stopped to get the mail (our mailbox is down the hill and across the road from our house) I could hear a kitten crying with all its might in the pasture. That poor little thing was crying so loud, as if to say "This lady will not get the mail without rescuing me!" So loud. I figured it was a wild kitten caught in some brush somewhere, so I brought the kids up to the house then went back down to see if I could figure out how to help it. I started talking to it as soon as I got down there, trying to calm the little thing. I still couldn't see it, but just as I was contemplating climbing a barb wire fence, here she came.
Much to my chagrin, it was not wild. It ran right up to, onto my leg, and started purring like crazy. What could I do but bring it home? It followed me back up the road, meowing the whole time, lol. Definitely a domestic kitten use to being around people and children, probably dumped out in the country by someone who didn't want it any longer. I didn't believe that people actually did that until I moved to the country, and unfortunately they really do.
We don't need another cat, but after our oldest said "But mom, I have never seen a real live kitten, only in pictures! We have to keep it!" What could we do? I took the little thing to the vet, secretly hoping he might find some reason we shouldn't keep her. But alas, she is healthy, and now we have yet ANOTHER member of our pet family. That brings us to 3 cats - - Monkey, Lucky, Bookitty and 2 dogs - - Trixie and Winn Dixie. That is in addition to our two boys who are 5 and 7, and a 3 year old girl!
In the kittens defense, she is very, very cute, and very, very good. She is partly siamese, those really blue eyes and all. About 8 weeks old.
Thanks again for helping us name her!
We have a black and white cat that my hubby got at halloween and he named her Trick but I call her Tricky.
Hi, How about Candy, Sweetie or Sugar (I know no Y) but I have a Sugar and we call her Shugie most of the time. Congrats on the new baby.
Nana
A couple that came to mind are Pixie and Kandy. Although these don't end in "y" or "ie," Boo and Pumpkin would be pretty cute too! Good Luck!
How about Tootsie. Like the candy.
We had a halloween cat once and we named her "Spooky" which was really cute! You could even get cuter and name her "Spookie"!!
One of my favorite books when I was in Elementary school was "The Littlest Witch". In that book, the cat's name was Itchabody. I always thought that was a cute "Halloween" name for a cat. :-)
I like all of the mom's suggestions, but I like Itchabody (like Ikabod Crane) and bookitty best. Congrats!!
Just a silly name I named my very first kitty and she was the best cat EVER. She was pure black with green eyes and I got her in the fall and named her "Binkie". I also like:
Inky
Abby Cadabby
Dusky
Halley
Punky, Hally, like the other mamas suggestions too...
Wednesday....like the addams family. I love it!!!!
Congrats on your new addition! I am so happy you guys decided to keep her. I used to work for the Humane Society and so many people brought animals in every day and it's just very sad. Anyway, some of the names I thought of are Spooky, Eerie, Witchy, Calamity, Tricky, Ghosty, Chilly, Hermione (my daughter's suggestion), Trisky (short for Triskaidekaphobia, which is a fear of the number 13) and my personal favorite although it's doesn't end the way you want is Salem. I think it's the coolest name for a cat. Be sure to let us know what you choose!! Happy Halloween!
Hallie
Wendy (wendy the witch from the '60s)
Sparky
Minnie
Well the first thing that came to mind was Pixie, since she picked you and you want it to end in IE. It is a bit of a play on words but fits the situation.
Tricky (Trick or Treat)
Spidey (sounds more like a boy)
Very curious to know what you picked!
When I was a teen, we had a siamese we wanted to call "Fiesty." We asked my dad what he thought (while he was half-asleep) and he said, "Ice Tea, yeah, I like it." So we named her "Icedtea."
Enjoy your animals!!
I had wondered if you looked for its real owner, or asked at the nearest Vet. to see if it was known, before you allowed the children to bond with it. Now I have read the whole story, and you're so right, people think animals are disposable and do Dump them when no longer wanted. I'm so happy to hear how you handled this, and now congratulation on your new little BooKitty. I rescued the pets I own, from abusive homes, and they make wonderful pets, and grateful for a loving, clean home. Hats off to you,V.,more people should care.

How about Candy? Spooky is cute too.

What about Sally from the Nightmare before Christmas movie.
LIke the Itchabody name or maybe even Spooky or Candy.
We had a cat named "Boo" she was a sweetie.
And we have a cat named "Lily" now and she's purrfect...
Spooky is good but Boo is really my favorite.
Boo or BooKitty, I like stormy as someone else mentioned.
Zombie
Mummy
Candy
Treats
Pumpkin
Lily (like Lily Munster!!)
I once named a halloween kitten BOO
How about Halli, it ends in the right sound and is short for Halloween!
We got a dog several years ago around this time and name her Pumpkin!!!
Candy, Jackie, Spooky or Spookitty, Bookitty, Hallie or Hally, Chilly could be fall or halloweenish
found this..
Annona is the name of an autumn harvest goddess and You could call her Nony/ie for short.
lol..my son didn't like spookitty.
I like Pixie too.
Tinkerbell is a pixie and my daughter dressed up as her last Halloween :)
For fall, I like Autumn (I am not a Halloween person, so wouldn't want a scary sort of name) - although that's likely best if she's a chocolate or seal point (which I know can be difficult to tell in a siamese kitten). And to get your ending, call her "Auttie" for short.
What about Sneaky, Sweetie, Candy, Chilly, Smiley??
My baby is Lillie Anne Munster, after Lilian Munster of the famed TV show. We call her Lillie or if she is bad Lillie Anne!! She is all black! and I wanted to give her a Halloween name without it being Blackie or Battie or anything else my silly husband came up with at the time. I hope this helps!
how about Chili!! I know its not real chili here, but that want fall makes me think about!!! Good for you, I'm jealous you get to have that many pets!! God Bless!
