N.G.
People say when my hair is longer, I look younger. So mine is about waist length. When I pull it into a loose side pony tail, hubby says I look CUTE, which is always very nice to hear. Givve that a try!
Okay, so I am not old, but I can't decide what to do with my hair. I would like a hair style that looks youthful. Any suggestions on color and cut? I am 30. So, feel like I am still young enough to have long hair but also I could have short hair. I've had short hair for a long time and now its like bob length, but just one color brown.
hahaha! I totally forgot I had a profile pic on there! That's funny. I am like "how did ya'll know what I look like?" Yeah my hair is just a bit longer than that pic and I don't have bangs. Been considering them, but so scared! OH yeah and the other thing is I won' thave tons of time to dedicate to my hair....due with baby 2 in June.
THanks ladies!
PS and thanks for the kind words :)

a little bit of highlights will perk you right up, maybe a few layers, but i cant really see your hair...nice hat though!
you have the kind of face (slim) that can support longer hair, so that is an option too, but chubbier ladies look younger with shorter hair.
***edited..in lieu of your 'update".....the general consensus i get from guys ive asked, "bangs are great if the goal is to be a little less attractive"
I think long hair is/ can be youthful... nice layers and a free flow & good shine, all point to youth. Maybe some peekaboo highlights as was discussed a couple days ago on here, subtle, but fun & adds depth. I refuse to cut my hair short, it seems a common thing to do the closer we get to 40. Forever young, I want to be, forever young... LOL
ok well I didnt think to look at your pic, but now that I have, longer, side swept long layered bangs would look really cute. Some lighter/ warm highlights, but not blonde.
All I know is, what looks nice and youthful on one person, will look old farty on another.
You need a good stylist, that will listen to what you would like, and then going by your style/bone structure, will do a style that flatters YOU.
Or get nice highlights.
Not harsh, but flattering highlights that compliment your skin tone and eyes.
That is what a good highlight, does.
Short hair does not equate to "old fart" and can in fact, look nice and edgy.
Long hair also, does not equate to looking "young" either. I have seen some women with long hair, and they look awful and dragged down and old and tired. And, well, stuck in High School.
I've had all kinds of hair. It grows back. Fun to experiment.
pink pigtails!!!
hehehe, just kidding! I think that you would look really cute (based on your profile picture) with an asymmetric bob with some fun highlights! You could probably do some bangs and look really cut too!
maybe like this: http://www.short-hair-style.com/images/asymmetric_short_b...

But I think you could get away with almost any hairstyle! I would stick to brown as a "base color" and add in streaks of other colors/tones if you want. Just decide how much time you are willing to put in to maintain your hair and go from there!
Good Luck!

I am going to disagree with some of the others....the inverted bob almost always says to me "soccer mom" unless it is a small angle and done longer. It can look good-like how Jennifer Aniston has it now...touching the shoulder and a little bit longer in fornt. This would actually look really good on you-you would have to grow it though I think-if your profile pic is current. http://www.stylelist.com/2011/02/23/jennifer-aniston-bob-....
I could also see you in blunt bangs or a pixie. This site has lots of haircut information: http://www.stylelist.com/
I like your cut now, but what about a darker brown more chocolate color ... and get an inverted bob ... where the front is longer than the back but keep it sleek not layerd.
On a lot of people getting a cute short hair style can almost work like a face lift! Putting natural blonde highlights helps too. What ever colors you choose for your hair make sure the lightest colors are closest to your face, for example if you were to get highlights and low lights make sure the front peices are the high light... it helps to soften the face. To make your face more slender choose a style that has some height on top (layered where you can back-comb the top) and slim near your cheeks with a flat iron, then you can choose to flip the bottom out a bit if desired.
I am 39 and wear mine to my shoulders...I've had mine chin length for the past 8 years because I too thought, for some reason, I was too old to wear it longer...Someone told me that it would be so much more becoming if I grew it some, so I did and they were right, plus got a great cut, that is key...I love it! Really depends on what you like though..Good luck!
I totally agree with Megan C. A bit of an edgy inverted asymetrical bob with some fun highlights. (I love her examples, might have to take them to my stylist!) Cut correctly (by letting the weight of your hair help shape it) this will be very low maintenance, fun, and a bit cooler for summer!.
I actually really like your hair the way it is. If you wanted to try some highlights, those definitely help make most people I know a bit younger. I wouldn't go shorter though. Long hair makes women look more youthful.
