Has anyone used any hair removal creams or dipilitory creams? I think I'd like to see my 12 yr old try this for her armpits instead of a razor.
Let me know what brand you've tried and your results.
Thanks

BTW - just read that Flicker has been discontinued!

What can I do next?

I use Sally Hansen for my facial hair but I wouldn't do chemical hair removal on a child. Heaven knows how toxic the stuff is, and the armpit is awfully close to the lymph nodes. I would just have her learn with shave gel and a razor. The Venus razor works well and is pretty idiot-proof.

I used this on my face. It worked well but smells awful, like chemicals. Plus, it gave me a rash.

For shaving armpits, I use a Flicker razor. It's a safety razor and won't cut you. You can even use it dry (not supposed to but that's how I do it). You can only find these now online:

I agree with Veet it works wonderful and I find it less harsh and smelly than Nair.

A hair removal cream for the arm pits could be tricky.
Have you ever had the cream still on your hands and pushed your hair back off your face? It happens. You don't want your 12 yr old to find out the hard way.
A safety razor will be fine and be prone to far fewer accidents.

I use Veet for all those sensitive areas. 3 minute one works, but the 6 minute one is better (blue pump bottle, leave it on for 9-10 min). Been using it for years and love it!

As someone else posted the Flicker is great. It was my first razor as well!

I found veet to be sensitive to the skin. And lasts longer than a razor. Also, think of her only doing it one time every 3-4 weeks.

I wouldn't use chemicals on her skin at this age. With all the hormonal changes taking place, you have no idea what kind of reaction she might have.

Maybe you could try an electric:

Or

The Schick Intuition is fairly safe since it has the shave cream built into the razor head.
