Hair conditioner/Face Moisturizer

My hair is color treated and is increasingly getting dry. I need a good conditioner and can't seem to find any that will actually improve the condition of the hair and not just be a temporary solution. Any ideas?
ALSO, I need a hydrating face daytime moisturizer, so if you've been pleased with your moisturizer, I'd love to try that as well. I am happy with my nighttime moisturizer but need a good one for daytime. I'm in my 50's and my skin is drying out. Ideas??
Thanks everyone!

I highlight my hair every 10 weeks or so. I love Biolage Cleansing Conditoner, it's a shampoo & conditioner in one. I use the one for coarse hair and it's very hydrating (avacado) and makes my hair nice and soft, it also smells nice. It's about 30.00 for a really big bottle and lasts me a long time. For skincare I've always used Clinique and love it. The superdefense lotion is SPF 20 and works great. You can buy it for "dry" skin, I use the dry/oily combo one. Clinique's eye cream is excellent as well. I have one from Olay that is ok but not as good as Clinique.

I am 51 and have been dealing with the same issue.. In terms of facial moisturizer, I use Dr Hauschka's Rose Cream (don't get the light) .. get the regular day cream. it's pricey at 42 in the store, but online via amazon or ebay, you can find it much cheaper. That said.. It's about the only cream that does the trick.. by that I mean, really moisturizes my skin and doesn't make me break out.. yes, at 51, I can still have small breakouts.. Growing up and into my early 40s, my skin was still very oily, but in the couple years.. WHAT a big difference..

You mention needing a conditioner, we use one with rosemary oil... also.. I wear my hair really short and because of this, while I don't wash it with shampoo everyday, I do wet it.. not overusing shampoo (esp one of sodium laurel sulfate) can help.. conditioners, some swear by pure coconut oil.. For me, I can't use straight up oil, I don't like the feel..

lastly, regarding your hair dye.. I like to dye my hair as well, but switched over to Naturtint. You can buy it at places like whole foods. (get it on sale) at around 14... it covers grey and is less harsher than other hair color..

oh and on days when I don't drink at least 32 oz of water.. I notice a big difference in my skin.. so drink your water..

I am like TF Plano. I get my hair colored at the salon every 10-12 weeks, highlights not a full color. They do a conditioning treatment if my hair is dry, which we do every other visit or so, sometimes every 3rd. I also use Pureology Hydrating Conditioner - the lavender bottle. I use Pureology Strength Cure for shampoo though, a blue bottle. If I could afford the Nano version, I would get that. The SMALL bottle of that costs $60!!! I do NOT mind spending the money on Pureology because the $60 bottles last me 9-10 months....it's cheaper overall than when I used Herbal Essences back in the day.

For my face I use the Aveeno Positively Radiant lotion. I have used it for years and love it. I buy it when I have a coupon so it's very affordable. There is also sunscreen in this which I love.

I color treat my hair at a salon professionally about once every 3 months or so. While I'm there, I pay extra for a conditioner treatment.

At home, I use Pureology (lavender bottle at Ulta) daily. It is a moisturizing shampoo & conditioner. I also use the Aussie mask ($5) once a week.

Coconut oil is great as well!!! Skin and hair.

For face, I use Kaplan essential oils twice daily, Trish McEvoy eye serum and Clinique day Superdefense, and night Trish McEvoy vitamin C Creme.

Hope that helps!! Make sure whatever you do... You drink a lot of water and use sunscreen

The thing with commercial hair dye is - in order to get the color into the hair shaft it has to punch holes in it.
Repeat dyeing has an accumulation of damage effect.
There is no repairing it.

Years ago I was frying my hair with dyeing it every month.
I gave it up and switched to henna.
I like the color I get with it (my hair is brown with some grey - I get an auburn color with coppery highlights) and it doesn't damage my hair.
Since I switched I have no split ends and I can grow it much longer than I ever use to be able to.
It's shiny, silky and feels and looks great!
I also love being able to cover my grey with no chemicals and all I mix my henna with is vinegar.

My skin has always been on the oily side - so I haven't needed a moisturizer so far.

I had the same problem you have expressed. Someone recommended that I try the XoPhoria Nano Cacao Conditioner. It was so amazing that I purchased the Shampoo. My hair stylist says its made major (and visible) changes to my hair's health. You can purchase online at retail, or find a local distributor (which is what I did). She set me up with a wholesale account with the company and I purchase it when I want.

I love these cocoa based products because they are all natural and contain high antioxidants. Try the Xophoria Anti Aging Cream and you'll notice immediate results!
