does anyone know how i can find out who hacked into my Facebook account?
facebook is not helping.... do i have to hire a private detective or something? LOL
I am serious! I am going to press charges for invasion of privacy if i find out who it was! I kind of think I know, but of course cannot sue or point fingers until i have solid proof! thanks!

What can I do next?

PM were sent that i didnt send. and yes it is invasion of privacy when i sent a PM to someone specific. I didnt post the message for everyone to see. thank god there was no child porn posted or anthing sickening like that.

Seriously? The reason no one is giving you information is because no laws were broken and there are no damages. It is not invasion of privacy to hack a Facebook account. You share that info, it is not private.

Just change your password to something no one else can figure out and don't share the password. How in the world would FB know who hacked/phished your account? There are anonymous hackers worldwide. Even if you found out specifically who did it you would be laughed out of court for a frivolous lawsuit. FB isn't private so no one invaded your privacy.

I can't wait for all of the little children to go back to school. Looks like you hacked your Mom's MMP account.

Suing someone for this, really? I don't think this will be your big payday.

FB is bound by privacy laws and they can't tell you anything. Just change your password to a good one and move on.

Someone who knows you probably did it as a joke to see how riled up you wold get and boy are they getting satisfaction from this one..

A real attorney won't touch this. Maybe a fly by nighter who wants your money will act like he will do something.

Take a deep breath, good luck and move on. Things could be worse.

I'm no lawyer, but I don't think there are laws right now that protect anyone who is 'hacked.' It sucks, but unless there was serious damage done, I would just change your password and move on.

Facebook isn't helping because they have no information to give you. You opened a virus disguised as a link or you entered your username and password into a page that looked like the log-in screen, but wasn't. Unless money was stolen or your private pictures were sold for profit, you have no legal standing for invasion of privacy as you were not damaged in any way. Change your password and, in the future, be more careful of what apps have permissions in FB, what links you click in FB and emails, how you log-in on public computers and where you enter your passwords.

How do you know it's been hacked? If your account is posting things in your name, it could be that you've clicked on a picture, app, or link that has "click jacked" you -- it's not hacking, but in clicking on these things you give an external app permission to post on your behalf. You can check your facebook apps to see if there's something you don't intend to have on your page.

Maybe someone in your household, got or found out your password, and logged in as you and thus got into your FB account, and changed everything.

Just close the account (or never try to sign into it again) and open a new account. Kind of a pain, I know, but what else are you gonna do? You either left your page open somewhere and somebody got on it or you clicked on a link that had a virus.
