Has anyone ever gone to Gymboree classes? I am interested in enrolling my 6 month old son in Gymboree Level 2 or Baby Signs. I feel that it would be great both for his socialization and development, as well as for me to network with other moms. However, the classes are pretty pricy (almost $400 for 24 classes!) and I am just wondering if anyone who has been to Gymboree feels like it is worth the money. I don't mind paying if it is really a unique experience for us, but wonder if my son is too young to really benfit from the classes. Any info would be really appreciated. Thanks!

What can I do next?

My daughter started at the Little Gym off Paseo and Golf Course when she was 6 months old! I met alot of people and have become very close with a few... I think that it is a great experience for them. The price is wonderful. $280 for a semester, which lasts Jan-June.. They are really good about prorating the price for you!!!! It's Awesome and not expensive!!!!! We looked into Gymboree and found that Little Gym had more to offer..... Good Luck!!!!

I have never done gymboree with my kids, but I do know they use the Baby Signs program and there's another, more ASL based source of classes in town:
http://www.sign2speak.com
They do a playgroup, too, for babies and toddler periodically.

Both my boys go to gymboree and it has been very helpful to me and them to me because I have had the oppurtunity to meet other moms and see if things I feel are crazy. For my boys they have learned so much my younger son was 9 months when he started and within two weeks of going he began crawling and they both seem to want the interaction with other babies. The best part is it makes them take long naps.

Hi A.,
I wouldn't recommend the Gymboree Sign Language Class. I don't think it is worth the money. You could easily teach your son yourself. You can get great sign language books at the book store which would be way cheaper. There is also a Baby Einstine Video that is ok too.

When I first had my oldest child, I thought it was wonderful and paid for a years worth! I just couldn't get enough. Looking back now, I was only doing it for mother to mother interaction and there are alot of other ways to get that much cheaper. I do not feel my baby got much out of it. It was just and organized playgroup of sorts. I would suggest an outside playgroup before spending that much money on a group like that. I dont know where in ABQ you are but we have a non formal one here in RR and the westside.
