Try calling Andrew Weiss at the New Institute for Music in Northridge at ###-###-#### he has teachers that go to your house and teach the instrument. Ed Finn taught my daughter to play guitar and he was excellent. Now she plays piano and my son is learning the drums, both from Andrew directly.
Six can be a great time to start, they are young enough to learn anything, it can also be a little hard because the hands are still small and guitar takes a lot of strength and the player needs to practice until callouses are developed on the finger tips, then the pain stops. Music is so important to teach our kids, good for you for making this a priority in your lives.

Hi C.,
There is a Guitar Center store in Northridge. They probably give lessons.
Try Burbank Music Academy in Burbank.
burbank music academy on burbank blvd.
I have a friend who teaches guitar lessons. She's great and charges $50 for an hour. Her number is: ###-###-####. She's in Van Nuys.
I know of a great teacher named Aaron. He runs rock and roll high. I am not sure of your level but he is great at teaching guitar to my son and his friend. Then number is ###-###-####

Also try Baxter Northrup music on Ventura in Sherman Oaks and look at the junior college's in your area; often Pierce or Valley offer community school classes/enrichment classes.
