Oh man, I have scraped more than my fair share. Make sure your sprayer's water is warm and downy works as well as anything. Really after the paper tiger rips holes in it, spray it down and give it time to work before scraping with the wall paper removal tool.

My favorite quote: either the wallpaper goes or I do.

I thought I would go crazy removing wallpaper in my dining room. Then my husband went to the hardware store and rented a steamer. The wall paper came right off. It made the job so easy!

Ohhh I hate the stuff!!! My whole house was covered in it including my bathroom which had the most fantastic mylar (yeah like the balloons!) Wallpaper thay about made you sick! I went to Lowes and got the cart full of stripper and all the fun stuff until the paint man told me to put it all back... he went and got a hand held bug sprayer with the hose attachment told me to buy the cheap laundry detergent go home cover the floors with some old rags and put HOT water and about 1/4 cup detergent in the sprayer spray the paper floor to ceiling one section at a time and let it sit then grab a corner and slowly pull.... let me tell you how easy it was! I did about three sections at a time and when the third was done I pulled the first off... whole sheets of paper came right off and left almost no glue behind... I did my living room, kitchen table room, stairwell, hallway in one afternoon. One room did have two layers of paper but i just rewet it and let it soak again. Btw my house is over 100 and horse hair plaster walls!

We once lived in a house that had been a model home, which means that every room was wallpapered. And they did not size the walls when they put it on either. The only way we got it off, without having to peel it off in one inch pieces, was to ALMOST boil water, and put it in a clean yard sprayer. My husband got on a ladder and sprayed that hot water from the top of the wall up by the ceiling, and sprayed it down. We'd wait about 5 or 10 minutes and it would come off really well. If you do this make sure you put towels on the carpet under where you spray. We also had one of those little thingys that you roll over the wallpaper and it poked holes in it, which made the hot water penetrate even better. Good luck to you that job is the worst!

You have my sympathy! We had the most hideous wallpaper with a mismatched border in our last home's kitchen. For reasons known only to the previous owners, the wallpaper was (thankfully, yet strangely) only on one wall. The border of course went perversely all the way around. Our luck, it was not the easily removable kind. On the plus side, there was no wallpaper underneath it! It still took DAYS of scraping to get it all off, but it was so totally worth it. Hang in there!
