Growing So Darn Fast

I have two girls that are just the best in the world. My first is 2 3/4 and my second is almost 7 months now. My first is beyond smart and is way ahead of the game in terms of first words, talking, letters, numbers, shapes, colours, etc but was pretty well on par with the physical milestones - ie: crawling, walking, etc. My second daughter seems to be hitting these physical milestones so darn fast. She started crawling at 6 months and now at not even 7 months yet she is scaling furniture and walking around. We only have carpet (area rugs) in the living room and dining room and the rest in hardwood and she is just so unstable but is too daring. I feel like she will be walking next month. Is this even possible? Whe did your kids start crawling, walking?

Thanks

What can I do next?

My daughter started walking/running at about 8/9 months old - sorry don't recall when she started crawling. My son never crawled until long after he started running. He's autistic and scooted or rolled around prior to finally learning to walk/run at about 13 months.

They say its typical that the second starts moving faster as they have a little one to look up to.

It's very possible. My son was fully walking by 7 months.

Every child is different! :)

Both my boys were running by 11 months but my one and only girl, the 'baby' in the family was running by 8 months, so yes it is possible!

~Funny thing, all my boys (have 2 SS's + 2 nephews + my 2 boys) were what I considered 'ahead of the curve' on most things *until* lil' sis came along! She has blown past ALL their 1st's and fastest, including walking, talking, swimming, retrieving dive toys from the bottom of the pool, spelling her name, just about everything...Ha!

My first son walked at 10 months. My baby is now 7 months and is crawling and starting to pull up on the furniture. I think he will walk pretty early too! Yikes, time to get shelves installed on the ceiling!! :)

my son was walking about 11 1/2 months. He has always been advanced in the physical aspect. he has been hitting a ball being pitched to him since he was 2. My daughter on the other hand is a spitfire! She was walking by 8 1/2 months and to advanced for her own good. She is only 2 1/2 and honestly i keep forgetting that. she seems more like 3 1/2 to me. Yes its possible and challenging at the same time. Good luck!

My son was putting words together by 9 months, but didn't bother walking until 13 months! He crawled around 7 or 8 months and that mode of transport worked just fine for him!

My daughter (4 yrs younger) is hitting her milestones much faster. It's pretty common with younger siblings. They have someone to watch and learn from!

Hang on for the ride of your life. Our daughter is also amazing we just follow her lead. Nothing should surprise us, she is now 22, but we are always astounded and amazed at what she accomplishes even now. ..

Our daughter walked unassisted at 6 months! Spoke in full sentences at a year..She could get out of her crib even with the zippered crib tent before she was 12 months. we had to put her in a bed at a year, so she would not break her neck..

My MIL had told me my husband was the same, but i would never have believed it, if our daughter had not progressed so fast.

My first son was walking at nine months and the second one waited until around his first birthday. My first was a skinny little guy and the second was pretty chubby, so maybe having less weight made it easier to get up and walk?

Hi, Hope you're getting all this on video, because it goes so fast you're gonna need the archival history before you know it! Girls seem to progress faster than boys and my daughter was quick, too. At six months she was sitting up, at 6 1/2 months she was crawling and by 8 months she was walking. It's the cutest thing! Once they get going, forget it! They never look back. My daughter excelled all her life! At this stage of her journey, she earns more than any other family member in our family's history. So you could be looking at a very successful young lady! ;)
