Hi K.,

Oh yes! My little one is 10 months also. She grinds her teeth on and off daily. I usually feed Cheerios to my baby to get her to stop grinding her 4 little teeth.

My son ground his new teeth for a few weeks once they came in, and then with each subsequent tooth that comes in- I think it is normal, it is a way babies find their new teeth and see what they can do

My daughter used to grind her teeth all the time! Annoying but normal. I think it makes them feel better when teething. Talk to her ped, but then try giving her some infant motrin or tyenol, since the teeth probably are irritating/hurting her. She'll stop eventually :-)

Hi K., My littly guy did the same thing when he got those front teeth in and it made me crazy. Fortunately it really didn't last all that long....it just felt like forever at the time! Good luck to you. :)

Yes, it is normal. My daughter did it for about a month when she was about 1 years old. It was about the time she was getting her top two teeth. My friend has a son the same age and he did the same thing. I would wait a few weeks and see if it goes away on its own.

We just had a visit to the dentist with my son whose 4 and I told the dentist about his teeth grinding at night. She said it was very normal and that there's really nothing to be done about it. The only thing to stop the grinding would be night guards on the teeth and that would impede the natural growth of the teeth. She basically told me there was nothing to worry about at this age. Gook luck.

It is just a phase. They will just stop one day. It is a terrible sound though. My son did it too. It is just a new feeling for them to have teeth to grind. Don't worry.

My son will be 2 Nov 2nd and is still grinding his teeth. He is in speech right now and they suggested this thing called a chewy tube for him to chew on. It has helped somewhat. He now just grinds when he is concentrating on something. There is a website that you can check out... talktools.com there are plenty of chew toys for you to choose from email me if you have anymore questions and good luck.

K.,

Teeth grinding/ restlessness can be a symptom of a Vitamin B5 deficiency of the central nervous system. since vit B is a water souluable vitamin that our body doesn't store, and is depleated by intake of carbohydrates and sugar, most of us are deficient in it.If it continues on, try giving a B COMPLEX vitamin and see if it helps. Also Cod liver oil works wonders on a feeling of well being. Walmart carries an orange flavored one.

Completely normal. She has just realized she can make a sound by doing that, so she is practicing mastering her new skill. It doesn't usually last long, my daughter stopped doing that once she started walking. When it was bothering me I would offer her something like a snack to stop her from doing it if I couldn't distract her with something else.
