Can anyone recommend a "Green" cleaning service? I love getting a maid service but do not like the chemical smell after the job is done. Also a bug terminator also that is natural or something I can try for spiders.
I use Cottage Care and have been really pleased. I was also looking for someone to help with cleaning without the smell of bleach and pine.
I use All-Safe pest control. The aim is to use the least amount as possible, but in the best places.
Great customer service for both of them.
I use Maid Brigade. I think they are the only green cleaning service in the Metroplex. I could be wrong, since I haven't investigated lately.
I love them. They do a fantastic job. I've had no problems with them either. They leave a postcard after every visit that you can comment on the team or ask for something to be redone.
They are very thorough and respectful of your property.
I don't know about the bug service though.

wonder if you're maid service would mind using the products you provide? www.melaleuca.com has a line called ECO SENSE that are all natural and work great.... i use them to clean my house and the few others i clean!
We've used Eco-Safe http://www.ecosafepest.com/ for a couple of years now. We have had trouble with ants of and on for years. We used Terminex several years ago, but we always had to have them come a week or so later to retreat the house because the ants would come back. We don't have this problem with Eco-Safe. We have 2 young kids and 2 dogs, so we were very concerned about them getting into the chemicals. The stuff they use is so safe that the dogs could lick the treatment stuff right after it is sprayed and still be perfectly fine. The technicians that come to do the treatment are excellent. They are very friendly, professional, and trustworthy.

If you can find a service or an individual that will let you provide your own cleaning supplies (sometimes they lower the cost), then you can be sure of the safety of the products used in your home. I can help you get the "Green" products at wholesale prices. The products don't contain any harsh ingredients but clean as well, if not better, than those that do. You are wise to be concerned about the toxins in your home for the safety and health of your family. They may have something for the spiders, too.

i looked into the product maid brigade uses and it isn't 100% green but it is close. anyways, i use a local lady and then i buy the shaklee products which is a neat company that makes everything concentrated so you just mix it w/ water. i think their products work great and i'm doing less harm to the environment and more importantly don't have a headache from all the pinesol when they leave :) hope that helps!
We also used Eco-Safe last month, and I haven't noticed any spiders in the house since. They are guaranteed for three months at a time without having to sign a contract, and it costs about the same as Terminix.

Wow! I am amazed at the number of people who already use Melaleuca's EcoSense products. I also use EcoSense and would recommend that you purchase the products and ask your cleaning service to use them. Any current customer can refer you to the company.
I just saw a car ad advertising green cleaning and I will try to remember the site name. I might have written it down. I personally use GREEN cleaners and other green products through my entire home anyway, so I personally would just have cleaning service come in and I would ask them to use my own products. That way I get the benefit of the maid service without the toxic chemicals in my home. I love my own stuff anyway and really trust it, so that is what I would prefer they use anyway. However, if you do not currently use green stuff in your home, you might consider finding a source and have them use your stuff. I love where I shop, and I can tell you more of what I usein my home if you want, but if not, I know there are a few services offering green now.

What you can do is buy your own set of green cleaning products and keep them at the house for the maid to use. Just find a service that will use the products you buy. I recommend a Get Clean Kit from Shaklee. It contains all sorts of green products for you to try out. My favorite, H2, is a vitamin E-based, ultra concentrated cleaner that will clean practically anything. It is super kid-friendly and has no harsh smell.

I got tired of smelling the bottle of toilet bowl cleaner under the bathroom sink every time I brushed my teeth! I began using Shaklee products because I know they make a difference in overall health and they do a great job cleaning!
