This would be a haul for you, but I know both Oak Lawn and Palos Heights (or is it Hills? I get all the Palos' mixed up) have pretty strong greek communities. Maybe do some searching there if you don't mind quite a bit of travel?
hi moms,

Yes, I am greek speaking and plan on speaking greek to my son when he arrives in April. I have alos told all of my theas and theos that they are to do the same with him.We live in Lakeview. While I can't help you now, I will check your responses because I would love to join a group like this. Good for you for not only teaching your son another language, but teaching him about his amazing culture and history!

Hi,
We are also in Northwest Chicago and would love if you could pass on any information you find! We have a 4 year old who when he was a baby had a pretty decent vocabulary for objects in Greek, but now seems oblivious to it, even though he hears it every weekend from his grandparents, aunts and uncles. If you hear of any good classes/playgroups please let me know!
Hello,
My husband & I are also Greek--we speak some Greek in our home & my in-laws & my mom are all from Greece--my daughter is only 3, but my brothers Children range from 4-7---there are 4 of them--both boys & girls. my biggest piece of advice to you is to get involved in your local Greek Orthodox church--I know my brothers family goes to Agios Haralabros in Niles & they have a Greek School every Saturday & they have family night on Mondays & the kids seem to love it--feel free to contact me & I can find out more info for you---also, register for kidwinks.com for a lot of local activities plays etc. to take your son to---when you say the north side of Chicago--that is very large---it would be more helpful if I had the name of your neighborhood & I can point you in the right direction. Good luck & e-mail me with any questions etc.
