The Nature Center on the north side of town in perfect for his age...and it's FREE. They have real animals, a puppet area, toy area, lots to learn and play. It's part of Veterans Acres. If the weathers decent, you could always take an outdoor nature walk and play at the playground.

If it were summer time, I'd have more thoughts for you. Have a wonderful weekend with your little one.

Hi,
You can try the Children's Neighborhood Museum in Round Lake, that isn't not too far from you, and I heard its great! Here is some info:

I am sure whatever you decide to do, your grandson will have a blast!

Cary Gymnastics has open gym time. Give them a call:

Cary Gymnastics Center
600 Industrial Drive
Cary, IL 60013-1956
Phone: ###-###-####

Great way to blow of some energy and it's pretty inexpensive for the open gym.

Check out Pump it Up on Rakow Road. They have pop-in playtimes available and the kids LOVE it. We just met a bunch of friends there and the kids had a blast. Plus it burns off some energy!

Enjoy the visit with him. :)

There is a childrens play place in Arlington heights. I can't remember the name though... I get the impression it's like a mini kids museum where they can play shop, dress up, miniature structures, etc.

You could also check out downtown crystal lake for painting ceramics (christmas ornaments?). There is a pottery studio also across from the train station, might be expensive though.

Union, train museum.
Lincolnshire? Marriot has Aladdin musical.
Disney on Ice (probably at rosemont)

Ice skating??? at Crystal Ice house.

Rockford has a Children's Museum that is terrific for the grandkids. Mine (ages 3 to 11) loved it!
