I don't know how. In your situation, I'd get the website from the container and look at their FAQ. You are probably not the first to have this happen to them.
Gotta love the little helpers. ;~()
Good luck to you and yours.
So yesterday I had to get some paint out of the carpet in my son's room. I was out of mineral spirits and resorted to goof off. I know...it's toxic, stinky stuff. I managed to get up all the paint. Soaked the carpet in water and steam cleaned it, so most of the smell was out of the room. I tossed the rag in the trash and before taking the garbage out threw in a load of clothes. My well meaning 2 year old "helped" and put the rag in the washer while I was collecting laundry. Now my laundry and washer absolutely reek of Goof Off. I tried running the cycle twice. Ran it through the rinse cycle empty with a little vinegar. I read that hand soap helps scrub the solvents out, so I soaked the laundry in that and ran the cycle. So all I have managed to do is waste water and make a bubbly mess. I pulled everything out of the washer and have opened it to "air out", THe laundry is hanging on my fence in an attempt to air it out. I will NEVER use Goof Off again. I knew it was a bad idea...what was I thinking??? Anyone know how I can get this stink out of my washer?
I called Goof Off. They told me to sprinkle baking soda in it and leave it open (which I did) and then they told me to pour Dawn in with the load and the Dawn will help. Other than that they said to leave it open and it may take a few days to dissipate.

If you have a front load washer, Tide makes washing machine cleaner. Not sure if it works with top load washers though.
Baking soda? Try setting a box of baking soda inside the washer for awhile and if that doesn't work, waste some more water running some baking soda through a cycle.
I would call Goo Off and see what they recommend.
Dawn! I am starting to think Dawn is my go to cleaning advice. :) I love Goof Off but it is stinky but it is also oil based. Dawn breaks down the oil and it washes away.
Just and FYI I use diluted Dawn on the carpet after I clean with Goof Off. It removes the greasy residue. Okay I also rinse any porous surface with Dawn after I use Goof Off. I am starting to think Dawn owes me royalties or something. :p
