Good Travel Crib (Need to Buy or Rent for Stay in Brigantine, NJ)

my son is a bit over 18 mos. and stays in apack n play every weekend at the shore. He is very long for his age and it still works fine. Don't buy a new crib unless you really need to.

My daughter is just refusing the Pack N Play now - 31 lbs, 36" and 27 months. She fits in it, but verbally tells us she doesn't like it. Why don't you try using it for naptime one or two days before you go? We always "practiced" before I took her for any length of time to another house (either of her two Grandma's) and that's why I know it won't work now. My mom has both a PNP and a crib for her, and we are going to try a aero-bed type thing with Dora on it for our next trip to my MIL's. It has a mattress, bolster and two small sides that blow up and it acts like a sleeping bag. I think this photo is similar to what we have:

My daughter is 24m, 30lbs, and 35", and she just spent a beach vacation sleeping in a pack-n-play with no problem. So I just wanted to mention that your pack-n-play is probably not too small for your daughter. It is smaller than her crib, but with her regular bunny stuffed animal & blankie in there, she didn't seem to mind. I totally agree with the other posters who mention practicing with sleep in the travel crib/pack-n-play before your vacation. It helps them get used to it, and not freak out with something so different than they're used to sleeping in.

I brought the Baby Bjorn travel crib (Babies R Us and Amazon) and have only been able to use it once. But it is not as heavy as a pack 'n play and is VERY easy to set up. You do have to purchase the Baby Bjorn travel crib sheet (through Amazon) seperate, but I just keep it in the case with the crib. The reviews of the crib are great and say you can use until your child is 3-years old. My child is only 6-mos and like I mentioned we have only used it once, but will be traveling more as she gets older so glad we have it.

We've been using the toddler Aero-bed since my son was 23 months. It has bumbers on it and prevents him from rollong out. It's really spacious so it will grow with him for the next several years. The pump that comes with it is quick...inflates in just a minute or two and deflates just as quickly. We take it with us on vacation and when we visit Grammy and Poppy. He loves having his own little bed.

Our boys slept in a pack 'n play until they were 3 years old and 38" tall. I have a hard time believing that she won't fit in it, but perhaps you think she'd prefer something else? It may just be how you sell it to her . . .

When my son was small, I always googled a vacation rental gear place in the town where we were staying. Brigantine is a vacation spot, so I'm sure that you can finda place that rents linens for beach houses, and they will most likely be able to deliver a folding crib for about $25 for the week. You'll be amazed at the stuff they can provide....high chairs, pack & plays etc. Sometimes it's worth it just so you don't have to lug it all along with you. Have fun!

I love the Peapod Plus (P201) that we got for our daughter when we went on a trip to the Caribbean. The great thing about it is that it packs down quite small and is very light weight, especially compared to our pack-n-play.

For our daughter, the trick to using it is that I've got to "train" her for the few days before we leave on our trip so that she gets used to sleeping in the enclosed tent, as opposed to her crib that is open on top.

In the reviews I read, some people complained that their kid wouldn't sleep in it (which I overcame by training her to sleep in it at home) and others complained it was too difficult to pack into its bag. But I found it pretty easy. Also, you can check their website for a video.

My daughter is the same age (19 months), but a bit smaller than yours (30 inches, 21 lbs), she has tons of room in the the Peapod Plus as it is about the same length and width as her crib (although shaped in an oval instead of a rectangle).

I looked on line for you and saw the travel toddler air bed by the shrunks. I just went under travel beds for toddlers. It is listed as tuckairetoddler. It looks pretty cool. It looks like it is cheaper to buy two them.

My DD is 2, 38" tall and 32 pounds. She STILL will sleep in a pack & play type thing when we visit my parents (or others) away from home. But what works for us won't necessarily work for others. I, too, thought she'd be too big for it, but it hasn't been a problem at all. (It's not our play yard, but my parents')
