Good Preschools in the Highlands Ranch Area

You have a few options in Highlands Ranch. I looked at the Rec. Center Program and the Douglas County Public Preschool. The registration for the rec. center program is in February and the Douglas County one is on a lottery in March. It didn't seem that either one was particularly difficult to get into. We decided on the Rec. Center, only because the registration came up first and my son has 2 friends in the same class which, I hope, will make getting him to go a little easier! I have heard excellent things about the Douglas County Program. Cost-wise, they are about the same, around $140 a month. There are lots of churches that have preschools and other facilities like Primrose and Creme de la Creme that also offer a program. Your child needs to be 3 before September 15th and potty trained to attend. I guess that the factors that will help you decide are if you are looking for an educational based or a play based program and how much you want to spend. Good luck. We love Learning L.A.M.B.S. in the Lone Tree/ East Highlands Ranch area. We are a very small program that only serves healthy snacks (no trans fats or hydrogenated oils), teaches Spanish and Sign Language, and focuses on Reading readiness. I did a ton of research and hands down St. Andrews Methodist is the best in Highlands Ranch. I think they have already placed for next year but I bet you could get on a waiting list for next year. My son has been going for two years. He started when he was 3 and will be going next year since he missed the cut off for kindergarden. Hi A.--We were lucky enough last year to find a wonderful preschool in Centennial. It's called Circle of Friends Christian Preschool. It's a great school taught by sweet, warm and loving motherly types--but very well-educated ones! It's a very gentle school but a lot of fun, too. They have many classes and times to choose from, they have open enrollment and I don't think they have waiting lists right now. Your child doesn't have to be potty trained like at so many other schools. They have other things you can do like 'parent's day out', and you can extend your child's preschool day with the 'lunch bunch'.
