I'm a dad moving to Savannah with a bright 3 year old son.
Since I'm working I'm looking for a good daycare program for him.
So far he has been attending the Cildrens Center in Franklin Virginia (since he was 6 month old).
Most important is that the center offers more than just a babysitting service (active teaching efforts).

My 7 month old goes to Calvary daycare which is also a private school. The number is ###-###-####. I know many people that send their 3 and 4 years olds there as well and they love it.

Here are the names and websites for a number of very high quality learning facilities in the Savannah area. They are all basically Pre-K programs that also offer full child care services, rather than day cares that try and claim they are educational facilities too. They really are top quality programs and I think you would feel very comfortable with your son being in any of the programs.
1. Maggie's morning school - maggiesmorningschool.org
2. Calvary Day School - calvarydayschool.com
3. Memorial Day School - memorialdayschool.com
4. Richmond Hill Montessori - no web site, 98 Fords Way, Richmond Hill, GA

Another huge local chid care database can be found at cattic.org. It lists basically every childcare provider (in home, private, public, etc) in the Savannah area, with contact info.

Good Luck to you, I can't imagine anything more nervewracking than trying to find a safe, healthy nuturing environment for your child that you can feel 100% comfortable leaving him in. I hope some of this info. helps.

Hi,
My daughter (now 5) attended Idlewild PreSchool and Daycare last year. I know a number of teachers who send their children there and they love it, as did I. They do active teaching for academics, manners and socialization. They keep the numbers reasonable and always have a lot of one-on-one time. It's on Wilmington Island. Good luck!

There is a great website "Bright from the Start" where you can learn about all of the childcare centers and even search by zipcode for the state of Georgia. I used it to find daycare for my 2 year old who has been to 3 different places and is now with a neighbor until Pre-K. I have visited quite a few places and learned that most of them have an organized learning structure - especially for 3 year olds. I wish you luck! Here is the website: http://www.decal.state.ga.us
