I really like Crescent Ave Preschool, it's off of Cresent, in between Walker and Valley View. Also, Little School of the West on Walker/Cerritos is very good. For Pre-K there is Grace on Moody/Cerritos, but they have to be Pre-K to be able to enroll.

Hi H.,
We own two preschools one in Long Beach and one in Orange. Because you still have time why don't you come by to our center in Orange and we can give you a tour and tell you what you should be looking for. I think that both of our centers are far away for you, but this way it can give you a base of what you want and what not. If you are interested plese call Children's Village Preschool at ###-###-#### and request to set a tour with C. Foster. I am on vacation for the next two weeks, but I will be back there after the holiday on Mondays and Thursdays in the mornings.

My girls went to 2 of the ABC Development Preschools in Cypress. I believe they have 4 or 5 facilities. Their website is abcpreschool.net. I was very happy with both of their schools and felt that my girls were in a safe and secure learning environment that made the transition into Kindergarten MUCH easier!

Hi H.!
Bethany Lutheran Preschool on the corner of Clark Ave. and Arbor Rd. in Long Beach is a developmental-play based early childhood center, who are in the buisness of getting kids ready for Kindergarten. Kids need to be 2 1/2 to enter and potty trained. I used to work in the jr. high of the day school and always wanted to be in one of the preschool classes. They were having so much fun! Here is the website to the church, www.bethanylutheran.org, just click on preschool and you will find out loads of information. If you would like to talk to the director her name is Nola Seaman, and you can reach her at ###-###-####.

I had my daughter at Victor Christian Preschool (Magnolia and Lincoln in West Anaheim/ Buena Park) from age 2.5 to 5.5 yrs. She had really good teachers - very loving and lots of experience. It is open 7-6pm. They have a good mix of free play and academics. It is also affordably priced.

My son has been attending the Montessori Children's House off Bloomfield/Centrailia in Cypress since he was 2 1/2 and we LOVE, LOVE,LOVE it. We even kept him there for Kindergarten because of the individualized attention. He is aging out after this year and we were very sad to leave in June. The Director is named Dr. Perrah (she is also my son's teacher) and is absolutely wonderful! The school's number is ###-###-####. It's OK to tell them that Brandon's mom referred you.I think your child would love it. They have chickens, rabbits, a vegetable garden which the children planted and even a real tree house.

Hi ~ My daughter has been attending Wonderland School on the corner of Artesia and Canehill since she was in pre-K. It goes from "potty trained" through the 4th grade. It is year round and is open from 6:30AM until 6PM. We love it. It is owned by a couple and the husbands parents started the school back in 1958. It is regulated by the state but is very family. We love it and I wish it went further than the 4th grade. It would be worth making an appointment and talking to Jeffrey Jacobs (the owner). The phone number is ###-###-####. As of September, the price per week will be $120.00. Good luck!

Hi H.,

There are a lot of great preschools in the areas you are looking - one of the main questions I think is if you want a serious Montessori program, or something more open-ended. I polled some of my girlfriends who's kids were already in preschool & asked them what kinds of questions to ask / things to notice as I did my preschool research.

We decided on Calvary Chapel Christian Preschool in Cypress - on Lincoln & Moody. They actually have a private elementary school up through 6th grade, so their preschool classes are pretty academic as well (my son, when he was 3, would get weekly homework). This will be my son's 2nd year there - he started last year when he was 3 years old, and he loved his teacher - it was a great place for him to get acclimated as a first-time-in-school experience. They're also a full daycare, from 6AM - 6PM, I believe. Here is their website:
http://www.calvarycypress.org/index.php?section=1

My daughter is not yet 2 yet, but we will definitely send her there after she is old enough and potty trained.

Their Back-to-School Night will be on Sept. 11, Thursday at 6:45PM, if you wanted to visit - that's what I did - either visit that night, or on an Open House night in the spring to see how the kids / teachers / parents interact with each other.

Hope this helps! Blessings to you & your adorable family - how fun it must be to have twins!
