Give Your Opinion About Carpet Cleaning...

I have always gotten very good service from DalWorth. I like it when they arrive at the scheduled time. My experience with some other companies has not been as good. Kiwi services was not a positive experiences for me. I don't like a low come on price and then when the tech arrives comes up with add on charges. I don't like paying for a small hallway leading into a room that they are dragging their equipment through.

I look for a company that truly gives good service. If it takes just an hour to clean our 2,400 sq ft house that is mostly carpeted, it raises a red flag and I won't use that company again. However, if I see the person really going over high traffic areas and spending decent time cleaning, I'm likely to use that service again. Price isn't always the deciding factor. I'm willing to pay more to get really clean carpets.

Natural alternatives. I want my children to be safe to play on it following, and me to be able to breath. Sometimes the smell of the stuff, or the "scents" that are used are way too much. Understanding of what I need to do to prepare the house.

There are some companies that don't move furniture, but have great rates for the "whole house". The problem is, you have to move the furniture somewhere, so how could you possibly do the whole house unless you put all the furniture out back, and some of the furniture, I can't move.

There are some that just wash the whole floor and don't pay attention to problem areas, or really clean...it seems more surface clean.

I want to make sure they are certified/licensed to do what they do. I prefer someone personable, but not someone who talks more than they work. He/she must be knowledgeable. I want one who consider small children and chemicals in their products. I want someone whose costs are reasonable and does a good job.

Bottom line with me... thorough, efficient and affordable.

I have had my carpets professionally cleaned many times. When they show up late, I get annoyed if they don't call to let me know they are running late. I enjoy it when the person is friendly and has a smile on their face. I wish there were more all natural ways to clean the carpets. I hate all the chemicals. I wish there was a way the carpets would dry faster than 24 hours. I also wish there were more of an option as far as price goes. I hate the minimum costs. When I call and a place tells me "$150 is our minimum charge no matter how small an area you have", I hang up and call someone else.

One major company cleaned my carpets once (I won't name names lol) but 24 hours later ALL the old stains reappeared. I will never use them again, and it was a national company.

quality and affordablity are my two. I want someone who really pays attention to problen areas, also I want the best value for my dollar.

Natural and safe yes!

More effective then my hands and a scrub brush, I'm ex milatary, if the machine I spent 100-680 $ on does not clear up a mess faster and easier then scrubbing with my own hands and a brush then I'm ticked off.

I do not want a mdas sheet on the product I pour on my floor, I'd rather just mix baking soda and some peroxide or vinigar and do the work myself. I hate knowing the micro celluose is clinging to my lungs like smoke tar. Gross.

I would really respect a company's honesty and not try to over-sell me. Like, "Sure we can get this stain up, but it's likely that it will reappear in about 2 months from attracting typical dirt." I don't want a company to tell me they'll get my carpet clean, and then 6 weeks later it's dirty again - if they tell me it is supposed to stay clean.

I use a steam cleaner in my home because I just can't justify the expense of a professional carpet cleaner if it's just going to get dirty again within a month.

Also, I hate it when companies try to sell me products/services I don't need. If they are honest with me and helpful and not pushy, I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

My ideal Carpet Cleaners:

Set an appointment time and show up at that time.

Would wear clean uniforms and paper shoe covers, like doctors in an operating room.

DO NOT show up with a machine that looks like the old-fashioned "Rug Doctor" machines that are rented at grocery stores - - and hook it up to my sink - - and use up all my hot water - - and then leave the carpet a soggy, wet mess that takes days to dry, while growing MOLD underneath in the foam carpet pad. (Yes, this happened, and I've never called that company again!)

Use STEAM to clean.

Use all-organic soap with break-down enzymes on stained areas only.

DO NOT use chemical soaps and dirt-repellers (Scotch-Guard). Did you know that DuPont uses a chemical that is a proven carcinogen? - - yet our government gave them a couple of years to pull it out of all their products! My kids are walking barefoot across this carpet - - I don't want one of my children to have leukemia when they are 25.

A set price that includes treating spots; steam cleaning without all the soap; certified, courteous, experienced techs who speak English well and show up on time; thorough job without tracking in or scuffing the walls; discounted price if I'm a repeat customer; a system that pulls out as much moisture as possible to reduce drying time;

The person who answers the phone is the first impression you get of the company so they should be courteous and knowledgable. The company should call before they arrive and arrive at the scheduled time. They should put some sort of cover over their shoes. I do not like anyone walking on my carpet with their shoes on. They should do the work like it was their own home and be courteous and professional. If all this is done and my carpet is truly cleaner than before, I would use them again and if not, then I'd try someone else the next time.

i am also in the dfw area, and i have found a fabulous cleaner. but, i will tell you what i do/don't want. i DON'T want a crew of 6 men that don't speak english, i expect to be able to communicate with anyone that is working in my home. don't come in with nasty shoes and walk all over my carpet. be careful not to scratch my walls with your equipment. be honest and realistic with the amount of time that it's going to take you. don't tack on $20 here and $30 there, that's gonna tick me off. please clean up the mess you have made when you leave my house. personally, i only like the rotavac system.

It seems to me that once you get new carpeting professionally cleaned--it gets cruddy looking FAST and then needs to be done all the time.
I would be very interested in green carpet cleaning--NO toxic chemicals at all.
