It's been a long time since I graduated from high school and I needed to get some advice on what to purchase for my babysitter and niece. I would think something for the dorm, but I just don't have a clue.
Any help out there?
Thanks

If they are going to college you an find out where and purchase a sweatshirt, etc... online. Also, anything laundry or storage is good. Container Store has those hanging clothes pins and other ideas. Itunes cards are good too. If they are taking a car get a kit to keep in their trunk in case of break down.

Kids that age .... Gift Cards or pre-paid credit cards. Most collages have their own cards too. Like UT Arlington has Maverick Money cards. They can be used on campus and even some restaurants and stores off campus.

If you want to give more than just a card, how about setting them up with a "medicine cabinet". Buy a large tupperware container and fill it with tylenol, pepto bismal, benadril, ny-quil, band-aids, neosporin, sun screen, etc. All the stuff kids wouldn't think of buying until the middle of the night when they need it. My grandmother gave me this and a sewing kit as a wedding present and it really came in handy. (I do the same thing for baby showers. Buy the diaper bag they register for and fill it with infant tyleonl, diaper rash cream, etc.)

Hope this helps, and congrats to your grads!

Money, money, money... but if you want to make it personal, I think picture frame(s).

A cute, economical idea that I've seen is filling a laundry basket with items such as laundry detergent, fabric softner, towels, twin size sheets, blanket, pillow cases, etc. ....maybe even a down pillow/comforter. They're pretty reasonably priced at Kohl's. Hope that helps! :)
