My huband and i got married june'07 and he has been a WONDERFUL daddy to my daughter (2.5) who never had a dad. We are expcting another girl in August. I want to get him a daddy daughter statue for fathers day, he would LOVE it! My problem is that I cant find one with 2 kids. So i am looking for a different idea. My husband is a "manly man" for lack of a better phrase, but our daughter makes him melt to mush. SO i know anything about him being a great daddy, ect he would love! I just didnt want to get him one of those generic t-shirts or mugs. Any ideas would be SUPER helpfull!

What can I do next?

You could take your daughter to one of those paint your own pottery places. My hubby took my son to one of those places and my son, about the same age as your daughter at the time, painted a big mug for me. They fire it after the paint job and you go pick it up about a week later. It was some great daddy/son time and I got a great mug for Mother's day. Needless to say, it is my favorite mug. The also have other things there to paint like plates, piggy banks, figures, bowls etc. Good luck and not to worry, he will love whatever you and your daughter choose to do.

Last year I did plasters of Paris hand prints of our children for my husband. It was wonderful, but he ended up insisting on helping. This actually made it much more special. I would do a daddy and me (and mommy and me) hand prints together for a project request for mothers day. Then I would let your daughter paint it for him. This way when your other child is born you can do it all over again for them as well.

My oldest was at his bio-fathers house and they did one for me for my husband, who is the daily dad, and they did it in a picture frame. It worked wonderful and it hangs on the wall perfectly. I would recommend doing one color of paint and I would go with one that fits everything such as silver.

Hi K.,

A really creative idea for your husband is a storybook about why your daughter loves him. Put pictures of them together in it and write a little story to go along with the pictures. I am a heritage makers consultant. We make digital hardbound storybooks and digital scrap books. You can be creative and design your own or we have templates where all you have to do is ad you pictures and a little bit of text. My boys helped me make a book for their dad "We love you A to Z" My husband loved the book and took it to work to show his coworkers. But the best part of the book is how happy the boys get when daddy reads it to them before bed. If you would like more information please e-mail me at ____@____.com

Hi K.,

First I just wanted to say Congrats on your pregnancy marraige and all the wonderful things going on in your life. Last year I made my husband a CD of pictures it was a slide show of him and his little girl. All the fun things they do together, her sleeping on him etc. I started with me being pregnant, ultrasound pics all the way up to pics of me pregnant with our second child which wasn't born yet. I put the song Daddy's hands by Holly Dunn on it and Butterfly Kisses. I have added on to it since the birth of our second daughter. My husband is a very manly man as well but little girls have a way of getting to their daddy's. He cries happy tears everytime he watches it. I love to see his face everytime he watches those special memories, they have made. Just a thought Good Luck Take Care and Congrats again.

I once saw the cutest idea for Fathers Day. It was a little scrapbook with pictures of Daddy and his children, but with each picture was a question and the child answered it. For example, "What is Daddy's favorite color?" in this case the little girl's answer was "pink" or "What is Daddy's favority food?". It is so cute to see what the child will answer.
