My coworker had her baby boy yesterday. I don't have details, but his health is not so good and has been flown out of town. My coworkers and I are going to the hospital to see her, but I would like to take her a little something to let her know we love her and to have faith that everthing is going to be ok with her baby. She is Catholic and believes very much in God. Anyone been in a similiar situation? She is like a sister to us, and we all feel so helpless right now. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thank you in advance.

What can I do next?

Depending on how long she will be in the hospital, i would look into getting her either a gas card or, a card to a food joint. for her, and for the baby i used a lot of blankets and diapers wipes, and lotion, wash. Thats what i used the most.

Some gift shops have those Willow Tree figurines. the hospital gift shop may have some. Anyway, they have all different kinds, some are mothers holding babies, some are little boys or girls, some have girls holding hearts... they even have some angel ones. That might be a nice idea if you want a little token of love. Bring her a favorite drink from sonic, she is probably sick of hospital food. I see you are in silver city, check the Hester house gift store for those willow tree figurines.

praying for good news for her and her precious baby.

Willow Creek is wonderful!
You could also try and find a store that sells Catholic or religious items and ask them their advice. I'm not sure how sick the baby is, but a Saint Jude figurine might be meaningful. (Jude is the patron saint of seemingly impossible causes)

How bout making her a hospital care package? If she is going to be spending time with her baby at the hospital there are a lot of things she could use and likely won't be thinking of right now.
Get a big bag (like the reusable grocery store kind) and fill it with toiletries, tooth brush, travel toothpaste, deodorant, lotion. Also snacks, cozy slippers, a book, a puzzle book, maybe a journal, pens, a notebook for her to write down information she will be receiving, and a phone list with all of your numbers on it.
Having been a mom with a sick baby, no flowers, or any other gift meant near as much to me as the friends that were just there. Didn't matter if we sat silently, or if they just dropped off my favorite sandwhich, or just called to say "i am thinking of you." Friends were what mattered most.

I have not been there...but O. of my favorite baby gifts was a ceramic wall cross with a little boy on it. (It's a white cross with blue). I still have it in my son's room and he's going to be 8!
I hope the baby is OK. I'll say a prayer for her & her family.

Perhaps you could visit a Catholic store and tell them the situation. They might know the perfect, meaningful gesture you could make. A rosary immediately came to my mind, as well as a book of spiritual passages about strength or faith. She will appreciate your love and support, and I hope all turns out well.
