Gift giving...what Do You Do for Each Other??

I am almost done with all our Christmas shopping for family and friends. Yay for Cyber shopping!!

My husband and I talked abit last night about what we want to do or give to each other. We tend to keep it very simple..and inexpensive. I think we are going to do something totally different..and out of our comfort zones... dance classes for a couple of months. It sounds so fun and exciting. He is looking into it.

So what do you all put under the tree for the special person in your life??

What can I do next?

I like to give my husband gifts that involve both of us, especially tickets to a concert or a show.
We both appreciate a great night out :)
But HE usually gives ME what I tell him to.
Last year it was a $50 cast iron/enamel dutch oven that I really wanted.
I even forwarded him the link from amazon.
Romantic, huh?
At least he wrapped it and put it under the tree!
After 20 years of marriage, here we are, lol!!!
ETA: and dance classes? You lucky, lucky woman, I would LOVE that but there's NO WAY my husband would do it!

We no longer exchange gifts. We like to travel when we can and would rather save money for that.

For the longest time, we didn't have enough money to do for hubby and I to exchange gifts. The kids would get us something and it would be from them and Mommy or Daddy. Now, we can do a little more for each other. Last year, I got my iPad from stud muffin. I don't know about this year. Maybe my trip to London/Scotland and the British Open????!!!! I hope I hope I hope! Fingers and toes crossed!!

Last year, I gave him tools. This year, I am going to let him come with my on my trip to London!!! Naw, I think I'm getting him a wine cooler. Or nothing. Depends on if I get my bonus! ;)

We have a limit for each other of $50 to $100 depending on finances that year. So it varies as to what we get.

I usually get him something from me and then something from the boys. More than likly that is not going to happen this year. It will just be something from all of us together. I know what mine is cause I told him what I wanted and it was on sale so we got it right them.

Until recent years my husband and I did minimally for one another. However now we make lists and give ourselves a budget to stick to and there's no peeking due to our lists being made online. We also feel that giving a significant amount of what we would've spent on one another to a local organization of our choosing is also more than well worth it.

When I worked outside the home, it was easier (tickets to football games,
expensive tool box, tools etc).
Now that I am a SAHM, I've had to get very creative.
I hunt for bargains when he's told me something he wants/needs.
I buy him clothes, warm jackets, gloves for the occasional skiing, his favorite beer, a certif to his fave restaurant or for a round of golf.
Funny calendar, warm sweat shirts, sweaters, stuff for his car like replacement wiper blades, gas card etc.
He gets me what I might ask or that I need (sweater, wool socks, jeans)
It's still fun!

We don't usually put anything under the tree. I buy my hubby and daughter a book, and then hubby and I usually skip other gifts, or we buy things for the house. This year I get a new floor/vanity/mirror in the bathroom, and hubby got a top of the line weber grill. Usually, though, we don't exchange gifts.

We decided a long time ago that for Christmas we would buy something for the house, for 'us'...and then we fill up each other's stockings.

I'm a SAHM with only hubby working so we usually don't get each other gifts because our income is so limited and so is my creativity. We are usually generous with each other the rest of the year so its really not a big deal to either of us. I do buy him something from the children and the children usually make something for me in school or church and those are the best anyway!
