So, for the first time in years I have my Christmas shopping done in a timely manner. I should be doing a jig, right? I have other things I need to do.....everyday thins like paint, curtain tie backs, laundry soap. And I have no interest in facing the crowds! WHAT? Aren't I supposed to be celebrating being done! This will be the first year I'm not up wrapping presents until 4am Christmas Day!
plus, I'm seeing sales that I could have caught, and the kids are bringing up new wish list items. I thought being done was satisfying???
Anyone else done for the first time and thinking it's not that great?
Oh, don't get me wrong I'm not buying anything else! go bake some cookies! ROFL! I did get an email that one of the items I ordered online (my nephew is a 6x. Man, that is a tough size to get!) is going to be delayed 1-2 days for shipping. He won't care, though.
I'm hosting this year, but my family won't care if the paints not touched up!

No, listen don't sell yourself short. You did it! Do a congatulatory dance.
You made it.
Who cares if the kids add things. Have you ever orderd at a restaurant
then thouhght to yourself "oh dang, I should have gotten that". It's
human nature to change our minds, want more etc.
Just be so happy with what you've accomplished. It's done. Congrats.
Celebrate. Don't buy more. Just be happy.
The best part of your post "This will be the first year I'm not wrapping
presents utnil 4am Christmas Day!". Woo hoo, celebrate, be thankful.
You did it! don't second guess yourself.
Just be done & give yourself a break!
The adding to the list always is frustrating! I'm usually done early, which is good, because I hate shopping. But inevitably, the kids find something to add on. I just remind them they don't get everything on their lists. Go bake some cookies or something.
I Don't feel like you do at all. I was so glad to be done 2 weeks ago I can't tell you. Major relief. No let down. Not even a smidgen of let down. I like to shop, I don't love it. But with kids, I just don't have time to shop. My husband on the other hand wants to keep buying things, so I think he may feel let down. He's the spender. I don't love spending money, it makes me feel kind of guilty.
My shopping is done but some things are shipping a little later.
That's fine!
It's kind of nice to not open ALL the gifts all on one day!
I'm finishing my wrapping today and I've got some baking to do.
We're decorating the tree - and that finishes the holiday decorating (we keep it simple).
What's satisfying is putting your feet up, enjoying an eggnog, and putting on a holiday movie or music.
Turn off anything that might bombard you with ads/deals/etc.
I know what you mean. But I totally lose my mind at xmas, especially this year, since it's the first year I've had a stable household and $$ for xmas.
