Getting Smoke Smell Out

Let me tell you, these ladies suggesting water/vinegar know what they're talking about! I posted a question yesterday because my darling husband gave my darling son a darling cup of milk... with no darling sippy stopper (not sub the word 'darling' for DAMN)... anyway, my house REAKED of spoiled milk, EWWW!! I sprayed that sucker down with 1/2 water, 1/2 white vinegar... IT'S COMPLETELY NEUTRALIZED THE SMELL!! I can't even smell the vinegar!! So... it works :) Now get scrubbing! ;)

Vinegar and Water it will smell worse for a few days but the smoke smell will go away

I bought a used Little Tikes toddler cube, the kind that you can put in the yard or even in the basement with a slide and such. It was not until we got home that I smelled the cat smell on it, meaning it was a target for a male cat spray. Gross. No way I was letting my toddler on it. Anyway, my older kids scrubbed it with kitchen cleanser and then we washed it down with vinegar and hosed it off. After being outside for a few more days, there was NO smell left. If you can, let it stay outside in the sunshine for at least a day.

I wouls try vinnegar and water or even a citrus cleaner and if you can put it in the sun outside for a few days see if that helps, thats one of the worst smells to get out of plastic. but im with you if you cant get it out i wouldent let my child sleep on it either.good luck :)

I am not sure how to get rid of it but if you cant get the smell out, no matter how upset your son is, I would take it away. I wouldnt want my child that close to a smoke product all night every night. Id also try the vinegar first so your son isnt breathing in chemical fumes all night either. Good luck!

I would try the water and vinegar. If that doesn't work, after it is dry, try a solution of water and baking soda.

That sucks. People who smoke just don't realize how much it stinks. Lying about it is even worse.

Try OdoBan. You can buy it at Walmart. They have it in a spray and a jug of liquid for other uses. The spray is for cloth but I think either could be used on plastic. I would spray it and wipe it off and do not rinse. OdoBan works better than Fabreez and those types of sprays for things like mildew and other strong odors. I had three playpens from my triplets. Before storing them my husband sprayed them down with Fabreez but did not allow them to dry so when we pulled them down later to sell them they smelled horribly of mildew. Someone suggested OdoBan and it worked like a charm! It doesn't have a pretty scent but it works great!
