My 2 year old has slept with me since a newborn(big mistake) and now im trying to get him to sleep on his own but i have no idea how to start the process .. he had a toddler bed but my parents gave us a twin bed for him because my son is bigger for his age.. any moms have gone through this? my daughters crib is also in his room but she sleeps in a bassinet in my room.. I want her to sleep in her crib so she doesn't end up like my son but i dont know if leaving her in there with him will wake him up at night? any advice/suggestions?

What can I do next?

I've bed-shared with my daughter since birth. She's 5 y/o now and has made the decision to start trying to go to bed in her room and new bed. We happily supported this change, and made a big deal out of it.

These years are so short, and you can never get them back. Co-sleeping isn't a chore, but a part of billions of Mothers daily lives everywhere. Enjoy it while you can... and allow your daughter to enjoy the love and comfort it gives too.

All four of my kids slept with us for years. They are older now, but there was nothing out there back then on how to get them to sleep by themselves. We tried the screaming it out, bribery on and on. Of course when they were older and finally started sleeping by themselves that tv show "Supernanny" came out. She shows how to do it. I wish that would have been on back then! Go watch that on you tube or something...I loved that my kids slept with us, but I do wish we would have broke the habit sooner. So i see where your coming from.
