Gerber Good Start

Hi.. I have a very fussy (might be colicky) 1 month old daughter. She has already been on Alimentum since about 1 week old because the Doctor didn't think she was digesting the proteins in regular formula (because of her stools - runny and chunky)..
I was hoping that the Alimentum (since its predigested and totally broken down) would prevent any colic symptoms! Boy was I wrong. She is getting worse and worse! UGH .. This is so frustrating, i don't know what else to do. I keep hearing people say to try Gerber Good Start Protect Plus, but I know thats only partially broken down and all whey proteins. Just curious is anyone has not had success with Alimentum but did with Good Start? I'm just getting desperate. My Doctor seems to want to keep her on the Alimentum, but I think its worth a shot if there is a possibility of it working? I remember trying it with my 2 yr old daughter and it made her have really crazy green stinky (more than usual, lol) poop ..So I took her off it. But should I try it with my 1 month old?
I hate that the Alimentum doesn't have any of the probiotics or prebiotics in it and like that the Good STart does! I already tried Nutramagin (right before the Alimentum) and she just refused it because of the HORRIBLE taste. OR should I just keep her on the Alimentum and have the Doctor give me something for reflux and see if its a silent relux issue? She is displaying some signs of that. But she doesn't spit up a lot.. just real small amounts here and there.
She is using Dr Brown bottles and I put a little bit of gas drops in each bottle. She is using the ready to feed Alimentum. Just wanted to add those things incase it helps.
Oh and please ONLY responses about FORMULA or other help for this issue. NO breastfeeding responses, please.. IT just seems that every question I ask about formula/feeding/colic/fussy issues , all i get is responses about how I still can breastfeed, or should have breastfed, etc. So I'd like to not get those this time :)

Thanks

I had tried several different formulas with my daughter and the one that seemed not to bother her was the Carnation Good Start(not sure it is the same one you are refering to or not) because it digested better and she also had issues with her stools and constipation. After she was a little older we switched to the Carnation Follow-up which was the next step up after she was a little older and that one agreed with her just as well. We also used the Platex Air-Vent(not sure on the name) bottles that are curved and have a vented bottom, seemed to be less air Good luck with the feeding issues as they can be so frustrating.

The reflux meds might be worth a try. My almost 4 month old did not spit up but I could here it coming up and her swallowing it back down. And she would start crying whenever I heard it and jolt out of a deep sleep if she was sleeping too. I was really comfortable with giving her meds but she really had a complete turnaround after trying them and finally seemed content and happy after 2 months of screaming. The doctor gave us the dose for her weight and then we never change the dose as she grows, so she actually weans off as she grows and by 6 months and more developed, hopefully will not need it any longer. We were able to put her on Gentlease formula along with that and she is doing great.

Try not to switch formulas often. From what I have read, alimentum can give baby runny stools, so it may not be a sign that it isn't going well.

if you have a pediatric dietician available to you (such as through a childrens hospital), it may be helpful!
