I have a group of friends who use to play Bunco, but lately our numbers have not been enough to make it fun. So I'm looking for other ideas of games that might be fun for a group of women. We have played Apples to Apples. We love games that get people talking and laughing.

We play Left Right Center (with quarters, and a final round with dollars)-it's fun!
You already have lots of good suggestions ~ my family LOVES to play games too & we play some of the ones suggested. We play with LOTS of people (sometimes 30+). A game we recently played was Partini ~ you give clues & your team has to guess. The trick is, you pick up a "coaster" that tells you how to give the clues ~ you might have to hum lyrics to a song, make something out of clay, do charades, tell your team what it's NOT (i.e. it's not a window ~ the answer would be a door, but you have to keep giving clues until your team gets it). There are other ways to give clues too. Sometimes we laugh so hard we can't breathe! Dominoes is a good one too ~ if you want to sit & relax.
Have you heard of Dominion, Carcasonne (sp?), Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride? Great, great games that we love to play.
I can describe another game that is so much fun and doesn't require a game board or anything that we play . I don't know what it is called though! :)
Everyone writes down 3-5 nouns on separate slips of paper (it can be any noun, even proper nouns). Put them all together in a basket with the paper folded in half. Everyone sits around the room in a circle. Every other player is on the same team in the circle. So, it would be ABABABAB, etc. One person goes first. Say that person is on team A. The person gets 30 seconds to describe the words (like taboo) to his team, one word at a time, who tries to guess the word. They race through, getting as many as they can. When the 30 seconds is up, the basket passes to the next person who tries to describe words. You cannot throw a word back in the basket to try another word. Once your word is guessed, grab another and keep going. Once all the words are guessed, all the words go back into the basket for the second round, which picks up with the next person in line. This time everyone acts out the words like charades. You have 45 seconds for this round. Since everyone has heard all the words the first time, you have some ideas of what the words are, but it still takes effort. Again, keep going around until all the words are used. The third time through with all the words back in the basket, the person can use just one word only to describe the word on the paper (ONE word, so be careful with "um" or other unneccesary words-they count as words! and your team has to guess based on that alone!). Again, only your team guesses on your turn, and around it goes. 30 seconds on the third round. When all the words are used, you add up the score and see if team A or team B wins with the most points (1 point for each word guessed on each round). We love this game. I hope my instructions make sense!
We also play Empire. Everyone picks a name of who they want to be (Mickey Mouse, John Adams, Pocahontas, you name it-living or dead or totally made up). They all tell their name to one person who writes them all down in random order (this person doesn't get to play the actual game, obviously). That person also makes up 2-3 more names for the list thrown in somewhere. Then, they slowly read through the list 2 times and picks a person to go first. That person then picks a person and tries to guess who they think they are (Sally, are you John Adams?). If they are right, that person is on their empire, and they get to guess again (you tell your team what your name is so they can help you guess effectively). The object is to get everyone in your empire. If you are wrong in your guess, then that person gets a turn at asking someone. And on it goes. Fun, easy, and free.
Have fun! We love playing games. We have other ones if you want more ideas.
If you are up for it, Dirty Minds is fun... we play it with my grandma, so it's really not as bad as it sounds... But the object is to guess what the card is describing. It sounds like it's describing something bad, but it's something innocent... You get 3 hints... One example is:
1~name for a woman
2~4 letters long
3~ends in "unt"
Your mind automatically jumps to a VERY rude word, but the answer is AUNT. :) It's not for everyone, but it your group deems it appropriate, it is a LOT of fun. :)
pictionary and guesstures
me and my gals always play sexy scrabble, its like regualr scrabble but the sexy words are worth 10 points more.
sometimes we play the guess who game where we put a famous persons name on a notecard attach it to the forehead (everyone has one they can t see), then they get to take turns asking yes or no questions, we always play for an hour and see who has the most guesses.
Discovery Toys has lots of fun games like Wiz Kidz with 2 sets of cards: one with letters and one with categories. Pull one from each side and laughter almost always follows! Speed Wiz is the sequel to the popular game. This one gives a word on the top of a card with 4 categories. One person reads the clues while others try to guest the word at the top of the card. Very fun! www.toyladyjanet.com to learn more.
Another favorite from Simply Fun is called Take Your Pick. A set of cards with 2 words on each card. Hold it one way and word A is hightlighted. Hold it the other and Word B is highlights. Pick one person to be the one talked about and everyone else tries to guess which of the two words the focus person will pick and holds their card with that word up. Everyone reads their two words and the focus person gives their answer. Very fun way to get to know people!
Balderdash is alot of fun, and I hear the radio guys playing Would You Rather?, which is just to start conversation.
