I want pencil and paper games....2 of them...and not word scramble.....something that can be done quick! Last year I let everyone guess the age of our family by adding up everyones ages (they had to guess ages). The one that came the closest won the prize. Also...big stocking full of Christmas related items...dumped them on a table...let them look at it for 60 seconds...then back in the stocking. Had 3 minutes to write down all the items you can remember. But this year I am at a loss and time is drawing near!!!! Help please!

Telegrams.

Each person will call out a letter. Everyone will write down the letters as they are called. Then each player then needs to come up with a sentence using each of the letters called out, in the order in which they were noted.
Example

L S C U G T P Y M

The sentence might be

L. Saw C. Under the Giant Tower of Peanuts Yesterday Morning.

Conjunctions like "The" can be used where needed. Players are encouraged to use the names of people in attendance. These can be as wicked or funny as possible.

After 1 minute, each person will real aloud what they have written and the agreed upon "funniest" sentence will win.

Mad Libs - you can find some online and then they can read them. Some can be really funny.

Turkey, turkey, turkey - They have to write the name of a country/state/city (whatever you decide), a food, and an animal all starting with the same letter. (Alabama, Apple, Ape)

2. 60 second game: See how many various category items the they can name in 60 seconds (Food, animals, states, kitchen items, boy/girl names, professions). The person with the most wins.

3. Letter within: Pick a category such as food or animals. One person picks a food (i.e. eggplant). The next person can use any letter in that word to name a food that starts with that letter. For example, the person may pick letter G and GRAPES. Now the next person can use any letter from GRAPES to name a food that begins with that letter (i.e. APPLES) and so forth.
The game begins to become more complicated between items 9-12 as there cannot be any repeats of words stated previously (i.e. once apples is stated, it cannot be used again).

How many words can they make out of the family last name?

Once they are inside, answer a specific question about something outside of your home? (You can set this up before they arrive -- Number of windows on the front of the house, how many trees outside had lights on them, number of luminary candles on the sidewalk...)
