Hi ladies, wondering if anyone has had gallbladder issue or had the surgery. What were your symptoms, foods to eat/stay away from, medication or natural things you did that helped. Thanks

my husband had his gallbaldder removed recently.
doing his own research he discovered some medication he was on for either asthma or acid reflux resulted in something like 80% of people getting their gallbladder out. He is not obese and its normally for people that are. Anyway... he waited and tried diet change and after several attacks, one that almost caused a rupture (which is how his great aunt died)... he got it out. He does not have diaherrea (sp?) as some people fear after the surgery. He can eat ice cream in peace now : ). and the surgery was out patient and easy but he couldn't work out for a month or something like that.

Hi there. I had pain starting right in the middle of my stomach, dead center about 2 months ago. It happened a couple of times for a couple of hours each time, so I made a dr. appt. They did an ultrasound and found a huge stone in there and told me my galbladder needed to come out. They told me NO (or as little as possible) fat. I had no idea how much fat food actually has in it!! So I scheduled the surgery for the end of October and stayed away from fat and went for almost a week & 1/2 prior to surgery with no attacks...then my surgery day came. They heard me cough, didn't like the sound of it and rescheduled (after the IV was in and I was in the hospital bed...ugh)...I got so fed up that I went to bob evans for lunch and ate whatever I wanted....and boy did I pay for it that night. I had a 6 hour pain attack that was worse than childbirth. Anyway, I finally had it out the beginning of december and now I can eat whatever I want! They did it laproscopically and I have three tiny incision marks, but otherwise no issues. It is so nice not to have to worry when I go to bed that I will wake up in pain. Good Luck!

I have had several gallbladder attacks that made me double over in severe pain. After reading the book, YOU CAN HEAL YOUR LIFE, I realized each attack followed an incident where I had repressed or pushed down anger. My mother, grandmother and aunt have all had their gallbladders removed and we all have trouble expressing anger.
Through a therapeutic process called Self Acceptance Training I learned how to accept and express emotions in a healthier way. It has been about 9 years without any gallbladder symptoms.

J.,

I have had my gallbladder removed. I had pain from gallstones in my back. My gallbladder was very diseased and had to be removed right away. Fatty foods will cause pain so stay away from those. The surgery is pretty routine. I did not have any complications or lasting consequences.
