Fussy Baby for over a Week Straight

My 7 1/2 month old daughter has done nothing but fussy for the last week and a half. She's not teething, we've tried just about anything that we can think of. I thought she had a stuff nose, tried giving her benadryl and claritin, neither seem to even phase her, we thought maybe she was teething and we just couldn't see where yet, teething tablets and Tylenol, doesn't phase her. Tried stuff for gas she's seemed to be a little gassy at times, but still doesn't seem to help her. She had been constipated a bit lately, we had switched her to a new formula, and I just switched her back to her old stuff thinking it was the formula not going well with her. Nothing seems to help and I don't know what else to do for her anymore.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

For you who were worried about me giving her Claritin and benadryl... I have checked with the pedi before when she has had slight allergy problems and know how much to give her, which was probably even less that what I could even give her now. But anyway we went to the pedi this morning and she in fact has an acute ear infection... we got some medicine and are slowly but surely on the way back to being a happy baby again!

If she has recently been vaccinated please watch her carefully. Somekids can't process the vaccines well and develop GI problems and sometimes more serious issues. My son with autism started waking up screaming in the middle of the night and nothing would calm him. I realize now he had brain inflammation too which may be why motrin would help occasionally.

I'd definitely take her to the pedi and have her checked out, but both my girls got really fussy between stages when they were under a year. Is she trying to learn to crawl/pull-up/walk? It messed up their sleep and moods until they mastered it....

sounds like it could be an ear infection. sometimes the only symptom is fussiness.

Have you had her ears checked for an ear infection? It sounds like pain and/or lack of sleep.

I would take her to Acute Kids if over the weekend, or the Pediatrician on Monday. And, I would check with the Pediatrician prior to giving a 7 1/2 month old Claritin or Benadryl.

I hope you checked with your pediatrician before giving your baby Claritin and Benadryl.

Ear infection? An acute ear infection may not be responsive to over the counter pain meds.

Talk to the pediatrician as well. My 7 1/2 month old is also dealing with constipation. His pediatrician recommended a stool softener which has helped.

I would also agree that it might be an ear infection, especially since she has had a stuffy nose.
