We have had great experiences with Charles McDuffee and call them whenever we need any HVAC work or even a new water heater. They have a location in North Aurora (managed by Steve McDuffee, so you know it's a real family operation!), so it's pretty close proximity to where you are.

We also used Energy Services last year. Although they were not the bottom line cheapest they were completely reasonable. We chose them because we felt that had a higher quality install also.

We had to replace our air conditioner this summer and got quotes for replacing the furnace at the same time. We talked to three different companies and decided to go with Energy Services in Naperville. Their prices were very reasonable compared to the others and they didn't try to upsell us. In fact, since our 14 year old furnace was still functioning okay at the time, they didn't push us to replace that even though we expressed an interest in an entirely new HVAC system. We ended up just doing the air conditioner. Everything went great with the install and we feel like we paid a fair price for a great unit with great service. Now I must say that we were used to getting phone calls every few months from our old heating/air company requesting we make an appointment for a tune up, system check, etc. and Energy Services does not do that. Good in that I don't feel like they are trying to drum up business all year long, but it's also sometimes a good reminder when you get those calls to get a check up before the change of a season! Hope that helps...good luck.

I'm probably way too late, but we've gone thru several H&A companies and the only company I would ever recommend is Air Handlier ###-###-####), not only were they honest (they suggested we go with the one that wasn't a brand name because it's the same exact company who made the higher priced brand name one). It's a family owned company. Dave and Tammy are the owners. Super people, great price and really honest.

We got a new one exactly a year ago. Brian's is very trustworthy and reasonably priced and all. ###-###-####
