Does anyone know of a place where I can take my 2 year old to have some fun outside of our home when it's raining? I'd like to find somewhere free since we've spent money on so many activities lately trying to stay out of the rain and entertain our child!

What can I do next?

When I'm broke, I take my daughter to the mall. She likes it because there's lots to see, I like it because it's something to do, excersise, and lots of browsing. It's good for my daughter too because she needs a good walking workout during the day. We both end up having fun.
If she is tired of walking, of course bring the stroller. It will be like a relaxing cruise for her.

Yes, the library! It's totally free and they have a great area for kids. You can pull up a bean bag, couch or two chairs or plop down on the floor together and read some books. This is sooooooo good for 2 yr olds to get them interested in reading and enjoying books. We read 2 books a night at our house and before they were physically reading themselves, me or my husband would pick one and then they could pick one. (This way you can target certain issues they be having at this time, such as "New sister" or "Hands are not for hitting", etc.) Now that our 6 yr old is learning to read he loves to pick lots of books to try and I make sure to try and read to him too sometimes so he can just relax. ;0)

Not too mention, this would be great for your little baby growing inside your belly too. I tell myself that everytime I read to my step son or his class, that I am reading to the baby too!

Where do you live? Because around here, we will go to the mall. Ikea. Some malls have tot areas. Since your kid is 2, going to Chuck E Cheese is good too, because they can "think" they're playing the games, even though they really aren't.
