Iron skillet works great.. Make sure the oil is super hot, be careful. They serve them down here with homemade ranch dressing or hot sauce..

You can deep fry in a dutch oven or any deep pot. Just add the oil a few inches deep, enough so it covers the food you are cooking. You can use a candy thermometer to monitor the temp. When the food is done you just fish it out with a metal slotted spoon or tongs (do NOT use plastic, it will melt!).

I always use a deep pot such as a dutch oven and fill the oil up enough so I can tell when the pickles are floating! That is typically when they are finished. Another little secret I do is right when I take them out and put them on paper towels to drain I also sprinkle them with a little bit of Sea Salt or Kosher Salt (large grain salt) while they are steaming hot! What kind of Batter are you going to be using?

Just do it in a sauce pot, with enought vegetable or peanut oil. Oil temp. should be 360 degrees.

What do you need to batter them with first? Sounds like a fun food to make!
