Hi Moms I just wanted to see everyone opinions on this. My son started peeing all the time starting on Sunday. My husband and time it he went to the bathroom 4 times in 11 minutes. No fever, No pain or burning he says. I took him to the doc Monday and they did a urine test and she said no problems? She said he probably does let it all come out at once. But all of a sudden? Im finding it hard to believe. He goes to the bathroom consistantly. Several time in several minutes. I dont know what to do. I really think something is goinf on but the doc says no?

My oldest son went through this. He did not have any infections either. We found out that his bladder was a little small for his age, so he really did have to go often. He has grown out of it, but it is something you can check into because if it is too big of a problem, there are steps you can take to help him and even medications if needed.

Sounds phycological, not physical!

Does he have any other symptoms- ones that may not even SEEM to relate to this? Like any fevers or recent strep infection, any OCD, behavioral issues going on?

Frequent urination can be a sign of PANDAS.

You didn't say how old your son is, but I agree with your doctor, if he had a infection it would have shown up in the test, sounds like he's not going completely when he goes, hopefully this will pass soon!

I responded not long ago to a similar post. Here was my response:

We recently went through something similar with our 4 yo son. Here is a rule of thumb: Kids this age are supposed to urinate 2oz+ their age (so 6oz in our case). Less than that could be a bladder issue, more than that could mean diabetes. It is worth it to have a doctor check him out just to give you peace of mind. I would take 2-3 samples per day for 2-3 days before seeing the doctor to give them good info, and take a sample with you if possible.

Ours was a bladder control issue. He was on meds for 30 days and is as good as new! Good luck!
