It could be an ovarian cyst. I have had them off/on since my c/s. It's sometimes painful, but nothing serious and there isn't really any treatment. Best of luck!
So, this is strange. The other night I doing the laundry, leaning against the washing machine at an odd angle, and I felt a pain in my pelvic area. I reached down to rub it and found a marble size lump. It is a little sensitive to the touch, but doesn't hurt. It is located really close to my C-Section scar and is deep in the body tissue. I have an appointment to see my doctor, but it isn't until the 10th. Anybody have something like this come up? I have lost weight recently, and could just now be discovering something that has been there a long time. Just wondering if any other C-Section moms have found weird lumps, or if someone has some thoughts on what it might be. Thanks folks!
Hi pals! First, thanks so much to everyone who read and responded to my question. It is really nice having such a responsive sounding board for this type of thing. So, drumroll please.....hernia! 10 points for those ladies who guessed it. My husband and I are hoping for a second child this year, so my OB is going to take care of it then. Thanks again, mama friends!

Hi. I agree with Suzi. I definitely believe in the motto "better safe than sorry." If I found something like that i would be going to the emergency room to get that checked out. However, if that is not a possible option and you really arent experiencing any pain, i suppose you could try to wait for the appointment. One thing you could do is call your doctor's office back and tell them to please call you if they get any cancellations for any time sooner. And also, if you find that the lump has grown, changed in size, or you are experiencing pain from it and not just a little sensitivity I would just go to the emergency room. If it had been there since before you lost the weight, it is important to know as soon as possible what it is. Good luck let us know what happens!
My first thought was that it is probably scar tissue from your c-section, if you are feeling it in the area of your incision. A lump of scar tissue around a knot in the deep sutures could be felt. I'm thinking maybe the sutures that are used to close your fascia, it's a pretty thick suture that is knotted many times. But of course this is just my first thought. You didn't give a lot of other detail on the location or anything, so I would still have a doctor look at it to rule out other lumps.
Try not to worry about it, and good for you for paying attention to your body and following up when something was unusual! Good luck!
That is strange. Try not to be too worried about it--it could just be fibroid or scar tissue. You did the right thing by making an appointment with your doctor. I know it seems like a long way away. Keep an eye on it. If it gets bigger, you should call your doctor, maybe they can get you in more quickly. Best of luck.
If you can I'd just go to the emergancy room after tomorrow and tell them you are in pain. Then they'll do what they need to do right away. You shouldn't have to wonder about it.
I sure hope it's nothing. One of my moms just had a tumor taken care of and it ended up being benign.

i have something similar. my doc told me that if it is stilltthere laying down that it is probably scar tissue.
it could also be a hernia if flattens out when you lay down. she said it is nothing to worry about unless you are in pain, and in that case it could be repaired. it is not uncommon for those to be repaired at your next c-section. (my doc also said it can be harmless to have a hernia and be pregnant.)
Hi D.-
From working in health care, the E.R. could be kind of dicey. As long as you are stable and no immedicate health threat, they could send you home, tell you to call your doc, but you'd still et a big bill...so keep that in mind. The lump is more than likely related to scar tissue from your incision. It's good to have these things checked out, but I would try not to worry.
Good LUCK!
I have had two c-sections and I also have those I am pretty sure it is scar tissue. Let me know if you find out anything different. :)
I haven't had anything like that but there are two lymph nodes that would be at both ends of where they place the c-section scar. I remember when I thought my oldest was sick and then found two little lumps in his abdomen near his groin the pediatrician looked at me and smirked a little and said those are his lymph nodes. Since they are the pathways to clean out toxins they could be tender when clearing out infection.
Hi D.,
I haven't had a Csection but I had a lump in that area and end up being a hernia that I had operated, nothing serious or to worry about, no big deal but if it is a hernia it may have to be operated. Check with a doctor just in case, in the hernia, the lump comes and go....
Best of luck!
