What do you use this for? My husband said to just go buy one to make my Oreo Balls...but I only make them at Christmas...so I don't want to spend $ on a machine that I'll use once a year.

Do you use it for anything else? Besides baby food??

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Oh great!! Thanks! I won't feel bad spending the $ on it now! I shred cheese ALL the time (I rarely buy pre-shredded cheese) and my husband likes homemade juice! YAY! Sounds like it's worth it. Thanks!

I use mine for everything: making breads, pesto, cutting up veggies for cooking, I'll use it instead of my blender because it chops things up better than the blender (ie smoothies, shakes etc), slicing zukes, carrots, shredding cheese. I have the bigger one so it has attachments for slicing and shredding. I LOVE it!

You can make soups, creamy sauces, fruit/veggie juices, salsa, guacamole, dressings, smoothies, fresh pesto, dips, cake/bread mixes, breadcrumbs, hummus, potato salad, frosting, cheesecake... all kinds of stuff with it. The setting you use depends if you just need to slightly chop something or want it blended, or totally pureed. I wish I had one! There are a lot of recipes online to give you ideas.

OMG! I use it for everything - at least once a week mine is used. I use it to slice veggies super thin for layering pretty, I use it to shred large blocks of cheese, I use it to puree veggies to add to sauces for flavor. I use it to bake cakes and to smooth fruits into pancake batter. I am sure there is more but that is all I can think of right now.

salsa, grating cheese, making breadcrumbs, shredding cabbage for cole slaw, making batter and dough...

Almost anything you would use a blender or a stand mixer for (other than egg whites) you can use a food processor.

I will suggest - if you decide to get one - yahoo or msn one has a list of the best home and kitchen products for gifts. They list the processor that has an extra large feeding spout - highly recommend you find one that has a LARGE tube. To me it sort of defeats the purpose of using a food processor if I have to take out my cutting board and knife to get the food items into small enough pieces to fit in the tube...

I actually don't like fussing with all the pieces, but my husband shreds cheese, and celery for stuffing. I use it for pesto.
