What Do You Love to Use Your Food Processor For?

I just got my very first food processor since a lot of my pinterest recipes call for one. Saving up for a fancy one, but got a $30 one at Walmart until I can get the one I want. So, what do you love to use yours for? I'd love some ideas! Happy Friday!!

What can I do next?

I love to great cheese in mine. I find it immensely satisfying to reduce a huge block of cheddar into shreds in just seconds. LOL

I also use it for hummus, to "grind" roasts and poultry into ground meats, to mass chop veggies like onions and peppers. I have used it to make pie crust (there is a Melissa D'Arabian recipe that used one).

EDIT: Never type while you are tired - I meant grate cheese....BWAHAHAHA

Pesto! My son loves to push the buttons, watch the Parmesan and pine nuts get chopped together, and the transformation with the basil and olive oil... Delish!

I have to admit the only think I use my food processor for is to chop veggies. Saves so much time and I don't need a huge one to do it with. I have a tiny $10 one that works great on pesky onions. I do have a friend that absolutely loves to use hers to mix up meatloaf and hamburger meat.

Obviously I need to Pinterest some processor recipes.

I don't use mine much at all. Shredding cabbage for coleslaw mostly. Or salsa. Although now that I have a Ninja blender, I can probably use it for the salsa.
I DO like and use the blender, a lot. ;)

I use mine for making my pasta sauce & for turning aged bread into bread crumbs. Those are the two things I use it for most anyways. If I am feeling lazy I use it for onions, peppers, jalapenos etc.

I also have a juicer, I use it less often but it's really nice to have and I enjoy the juice from fresh foods. Have fun :)

We use ours for baby food if we need to, especially oatmeal and rice because they are just so expensive in the box when we can get the better stuff and do it ourselves.

I like mine for spinach dip. My dad got his for cake, cookies, pie crust, fillings, etc.

My SIL gave me her old one and sadly the only thing I use it for is to make the crust for my world famous lemon bars. After reading the responses I probably outta pull it out more often and get a little more creative!

EVERYTHING. If you get one that has attachments and can julienne things, that'd be great. I use that attachment to julienne zucchinis and carrots for muffins. Mine also has an attachment for juicing so we make lemonade and orange juice. I also use it to mince up everything I throw in my meat loaf. I'd recommend getting a nicer one. We have the Cuisinart and I love it! I've had it for 10 years. Still going strong.

i'm no help, bethy, but reading this thread with interest. i've got a kitchenaid which i use pretty often, and a blendtec which i use every day. i'd hoped this would negate the need for a food processor (how many gadgets can my kitchen hold?) but there are things which neither of them do. i may need to break down and get one, but i've never used one and they seem awfully complicated.

I wore mine out making baby food and raw food recipes. If you have the time and you're interested in raw food, give some recipes a try. They are really yummy and super healthy. Look up raw chocolate pudding online. It's made from avocados and cocoa, and it's delicious!

making bread dough for my own pizza. But you need the expensive one for that. Shredding cheese is the runner up.

Chopping vegetables. Especially if my husband and son are helping because they love power tools. Vegetable stir fries, peppers and onions for fajitas, broccoli and zucchini for lasagna. We also have a large blade for making french fries. My husband likes to shred leftover chicken for tacos, and make guacamole.
I would probably use it more, but it's awkward and heavy to get out of the cupboard, and difficult to clean even in the dishwasher.
