I appreciate all the replies for cleaning hardwoods with the vinegar and water. Curious about the recommended water:vinegar ratio. Also my new question is what do you all recommend for tub, soap scum, mold cleaning, that isn't harmful to babies????
Try Mrs. Meyers. You can buy it at wholefoods. It smells great and isn't harmful to people or pets. My favorite is the geranium scent. Good luck!
The Acid in the vinegar after sitting for a while on the mold will kill it but it may not remove the stain. You can try Hydrogen peroxide to remove it by applying the peroxide to a rag, applying it to the stain and leaving it there for 10-15 min rub and rinse.
To be completely natural Use Baking soda as a natural abrasive and vinegaer full strength the two together have a fizzing reaction that works into the soap scum. Using essential oil of Lavender as an antiseptic and can be diluted and sprayed on after to aid in further disinfecting.
Vinegar for in the shower cleaning full strength in a spray bottle, spray all over and sprinkle the Baking power on after, scrub with rag or sponge, rinse, spray with essential oil of Lavender, also can be used in the toilet and in/on sinks same preparation maybe a bit more Baking Power in the toilet.
I use a 1:1 ratio vinegar to water for cleaning everything- glass, kitchen, floors, etc. For the tub, you could sprinkle baking soda first, then spray with your vinegar/water, or make a 1:1 ratio of hydrogen peroxide to water and spray on. Lemon juice also makes a great cleaner!
I use Simple Green. You can drink the stuff no problem. I suggest watering it down a lot to make sure it is extra safe with such a young baby.
I use a product that is made with natural solvents and it works wonders. You can't buy it in the stores but I could send you a sample. There's actually a whole line of natual and environmentally sensitive household and personal care products that are very inexspensive but of awesome quality. It's made a real difference in our home and I'd love to share it with you.

You've gotten some good responses, so I won't repeat what's already been said. I will mention Borax - you can usually find it in the cleaning aisle of grocery stores or hardware stores... its safe enough to clean with around babies and does wonders in the tub... and it has a whole slew of other great cleaning uses! I use Borax, baking soda, vinegar, hot water, and Holy Cow organic cleaners to clean my whole house!
I use vinegar and water solution for all my cleaning. The ratio isn't terribly important. Its just vinegar so you really can't add too much. I usually do 25% vinegar to 75% water. If I have a hard stain or a hard water spot I just pt straight vinegar on and let it sit for few minutes.
