I hold mine up at the shower head and let it beat on them.... My husband thought I was doing some sort of yoga move in the shower.....
This is a follow on question from one last week (washing behind the ears) that had me thinking - do you clean under your nails?
This is something I do ONLY at home and have for the past 11 years since my boys were in the NICU...before we went into the NICU we had to suit up, scrub hands and wash under the nails....
Am I the only one?
I'm soo glad to hear I'm not the only one!! thanks ladies!

every time i wash my hands.
I have a scraper thingie to clean under them really good every few days and I use a nail brush to help maintain ... as well when I wash my hair it seems to help get stuff out from under my nails too! So, no not the only one.
Well I do if I garden. But since I do so many dishes, 3-5 times daily, and I keep my nails clipped as far down as I can, it's kind of not necessary.
I think it's natural to do so...if you are a clean person, anyhow. Sometimes I look at my six year old daughter's fingernails and just think "Yuck!" and then I bring out the old toothbrush and give them a good scrubbing. She washes her hands, but that's obviously not enough when you are six and crafting and playing outside. :)
I clean under my nails, usually soap and water, often with the nail file scraper, and once in awhile with the nail brush. I hate it when I get food particles under there- like salt from popcorn or french fries, or dough from baking.
When I was a kid, I got a lot of garden dirt under my fingernails and my solution was to poke my fingernails into a soft bar of soap. It drove my mother crazy because it would ruin the bar of soap.
We keep our nails short and every sink has a nail brush beside it.
I garden a lot and my nails would be black if I didn't wash them all the time.
I'm just in the habit of washing them all the time and I make sure the rest of the family does it too.
I clean under my nails every time I wash my hands.
Heavens, no, you're not alone! Yes, I clean under my nails with a nail brush, there are too many germs under there, yuk!!
Washing behind the ears "yes" when they are bathing or washing. As for the nails, if they look clean and not grubby, with dirt under the nail, they are fine. It isn't necessary to clean your nails every day unless needed. When you wash your hands with soap and water just get a small hand brush to scrub under the nails, this way its not necessary to manicure them all the time. Young girls like to keep clean where young boys they care (but dont') and will only clean when something is said. My son even at the age of 3 hated to have dirty hands, he wouldnt' play in dirt if you paid him or you had to wash him up good, my other son the dirtier he got the better and it was a task to keep his nails and hands clean. My daughter always kept her hands clean cause she liked to play in water. I think it all depends on the individual. However as they grow older they soon learn that they should keep their nails and hands clean as well as washing behind the ears.
I am an under the nail cleaner as well. Just looks nicer and make me feel better. I can't stand yuck under my nails.
Yes, always. Every time I wash my hands--I clean under my nails, nail bed and scrub very good for at least a minute. I cant stand dealing with people who have grubby junk under their nails--especially those with long fingernails/acrillics etc. It drives me nuts!!!
M
Only if they are dirty (like if I have been gardening). Otherwise, no.
In the shower, I do.
:)
I don't have to. Between cleaning up the house frequently, and washing my hair every day, they always stay clean.
