Have any of you tried the Haan floor steam cleaner or the Shark floor steam cleaner? I need to replace my carpet shampooer and I was considering trying something like a steam cleaner instead. The informercial for the Haan says you can use it on carpet, floors, counters and bedding so that has me intrigued but I know that informercials aren't as honest as they should be. If you have tried either one (Haan or Shark), please let me know how it worked, if you like it, how easy it is to use, what type of floors/surfaces do you use it on, etc. Thanks for any advice you can give.

What can I do next?

If they can afford the info-mercials then they are over charging for the machine. Avoid Bissels though. They have a flimsy belt system and tend to break quickly. I love my Hoover from Wal-Mart. It was under $200 and it's a work horse. It's easy to use, durable, and cleans like a pro. It's great for tough spots and the carpet dries quickly. Mine heats up the water and carpet a little to speed things up.

I've tried the shark steamer. It works great on hard surfaces such as ceramic tile. It comes with several washable cloths that you put on to clean with. It's not for carpet.

I have the Shark Steam Cleaner (about $100 after you buy replacement pads) and I really like it. Its so much easier than a mop and bucket and cleaner.

I also have a Hoover and love it. It's great on the carpets and has has a "turbo" setting where I can add extra steam to stains without soaking everything. I think the carpet takes maybe 45 minutes to dry and it has a bare floor attachment for the tile, linoleum, pergo floor etc. as well as an upholstery attachment. It takes all of 20 seconds to change from floors to upholstery. I think I paid around $150 for it about a year ago and the flor attachment is like $6 or $7 from Hoover. I use it at least every other month on the carpets and do my floor with it all of the time. With the bare floor attachment there is just as much water if not less left as when you are mopping. It's basically damp, if that makes sense......I've seen the infomercial for the Haan as well and thought about it but, I kind of agree with the last person ,if they are paying for infomercials the product price has to reflect that....Good Luck
