Flat Irons

I would suggest Andis brand from Walmart. I paid 14$ for it and it gets "really" hot and I have had it for over a year and hasn't fallen apart. I love it. I was going for the real expensive one first but I thought let me try a cheap one first. Best 14$ I have spent...

My daughter uses a Remington (about $50) from Ulta and she likes it. I ahve used it a few times and it is easy to use and works well.

I use the Chi because it is made of ceramic and is supposedly better for your hair. It cost about $100, but I want healthy hair. I had a more expensive Tony and Guy flat iron, but it was made of metal that fries hair, so I switched to the Chi. I tried the Maxxius steam flat iron, but it was awkward in size and using water and electricity sort of freaked me out, so I got rid of it. Whatever flat iron you buy, make sure is it good for your hair and won't burn it. I hope that helps.

C. - I have purchased a lot of flat irons over the years, all in my quest not to break down and buy the $300 Chi iron...and all of them failed to give me look of a Chi, and also fell apart.

About a year ago, on the advice of my stylist, I purchased the generic Chi iron from Sally Beauty Supply for about $100 - I have been extremely satisfied with it. It heats up quickly & gives me that absolute straight look I get when I'm at the stylist's. Not sure what about the Chi makes it so superior, but it is - I'm sure the still expensive generic version isn't as great as the real deal, but it is still far superior to all others I've tried.
