Schick Intuition all the way. No need for messy creams or gels. The razor has that built in chunk of soap stuff on it. My teen daughter and I both use them and have not bough shaving cream for years and years. Easy to use, can use a few times if you rinse hair off and let it dry well between use (and keep it out of shower spray as that wears down the soap thing attached to it).

Good luck!

My 15-year old daughter loves the "Schick Xtreme 3" razors. They have some kind of strip of lotion or something to avoid razor burn. Even states on the package "Fights Razor Burn - Guaranteed"!! Comes in a package of 8-10 razors at a reasonable price.

Plus, they're made in the USA!!!

Good luck!!

Venus Embrace or Schick Intuition. Whatever you do, don't give her those cheap, crappy disposables.
And don't let her use depilatory creams like Nair - they aren't good for her skin.

I'd say the Venus Embrace. I like a cleaner shave than women's razors give and I was really pressing that thing into my skin. I don't think i could have cut myself with it if I were trying. I know Venus also makes a teen razor that minimizes the cutting risk even more.

Seconding the Schick Xtreme 3. Works wonderfully, I don't get many cuts (If I do, I wasn't paying attention), and I usually don't have to shave for a couple days after use it does such a great job.

I was given a crappy blunt disposable by my Mother, who didn't want to give me one, but the many kids teasing me made her reluctantly give me one.

Of the ones I have used, the best one I have found that has so far NOT EVER cut me, and gave a nice shave was the Schick Hydrosilk. I ended up getting it as a freebie with a Target.com order. Prior to that I was using the Men's Gillette Mach 4 Turbo, as it shaved very coarse hair smoothly without nicking my skin.

Personally, I also use Nad's hair removal gel(it's all natural, and has never given my skin any issues, and I have very sensitive skin). If you are worried about her accidentally cutting herself, you may wish to go that route. I recommend it for use on underarms. It's a sugar based gel, and the mango shea lotion for use afterward makes the skin feel refreshed.

Hope this helps.

I don't think they make "first" razors (unless that's the latest marketing gimmick?) I just got my girls what I use, a nice Gillette razor with good blades.
The Venus one is nice too but I find the "men's" razors to be better quality, sharper and smoother.
