Once again, trip down memory lane.

Wondering:

Anyone have funny stories or just great stories about the first time you changed diapers, fed the baby, gave baby a bath, first time baby walked, etc.

I love hearing about these things, I love thinking back on my childs first. And remembering all the strange situations that I got myself into or the way my husband reacted the first time he changed a diaper.

For instance: First diaper change, day 1, in hospital, 5 hrs after my c-section. My husband laid my son down at the foot of the bed between my legs, I was half asleep. All of the sudden he starts laughing histerically and I feel something warm hit my head...My husband had taken the diaper off, my son was peeing and the diaper and wipes were clear across the room. My husband thought it was so hilarious and just fantastic that his little boy had such great aim!!! I of course wasn't pleased that I'd been peed on while I was trying to take a nap after surgery!
lol but it's something that I will never forget!

Tell me your stories if you feel inclined.

What can I do next?

Happy Holidays all.
I don't have a first diaper change story but have a funny one nevertheless. The only one I can think of right now.

My daughter was about 10-11 months old. She liked to stand at the window of my bedroom while I was working on the computer, and look out. My dirty clothes basket is right there beside there window. For some reason, she always liked to take the clothes out and fool with them while staring mindlessly out the window.

Anyway, I look up to find her playing with my dirty underwear (granny panties we all know we have). Not only playing, but had put them over her head. I laughed so hard I almost fell out of the chair. I grabbed the video camera for a quick shot befofe she pulled themoff. Of course, since I was laughing, she began clapping, so proud of what she had done

These are great and I've had a blast reading them all!

When my daughter was only 2 months, I was sitting in a rocker with her in my lap. I felt something runny on my leg and wasn't sure what it was. I wiped it with my fingers and put my fingers to my nose to smell it (I should have known better, I was a new mom). When I was smelling them my pinky went into my mouth. That's when I realized it was poop and I just put my finger with poop on it in my mouth. I calmly told my husband, "I just put poop in my mouth." Here I am with poop in my mouth, on my hand, and allllll over my leg. What did my husband do? He took off running down the hallway gagging! We still laugh about that one.

my favorite story is about my son.

he was just born and i had him circumcised because i never wanted to deal with my son not taking care of himself properly as he got old and having to have it done when he was like 12 or so. my cousin did this. i learned from his mistake.

so the nurse showed me what it looked like so i would not be shocked when i got home. she told me what to watch for and how to care for him until it healed.

my ex was there and he looked over my shoulder to see too. he promptly fell to the floor holding himself and crying like a baby. the nurse and i thought it was hilarious. he did not see the humor in it. then he absolutely refused to change diapers till it healed.

so when my son was aobut 2 weeks old and everything had healed, he agreed to change his diaper. i got he wipes and a clean diaper for him and told him to be quick about it. so he takes off the wet diaper and waits entirely too long to get the new diaper on him.

the baby proceeds to pee all over the couch, the curtains, himself, his father, and the new diaper that my ex finally put over him. my daughter and i were laughing hysterically becuase i had told him several times to hurry up as i watched his little thing come up and prepare to wet the world.....

he didn't listen. he took his merry sweet time. when the baby began to pee all over everything, he did not think it was anywhere near as funny as my daughter and i did - and he still doesn't after 10 years.

This isn't really a first experience, but here's a funny one anyway...

When I was 11 or 12 I went to visit my aunt in TX. At the time, my 2 cousins were like 3 and 3 months. Well I was holding the baby (I always loved babies) sitting in a pampasan chair (if you don't know what that is, it's a round chair on a frame with sort of a futon matress for a cushion....sort of a classy-er beanbag chair. Noone bothered to tell me that they baby had been recently fed and I was playing with her..you know, the bouncy airplane-she was laughing her little head off! All of a sudden I saw the stream emit from her little mouth and headed straight for mine. Luckily, I closed my mouth before the breech, but then I was stuck in that stupid chair with baby barf on my mouth trying to get someone's attention to take her so I could get up and clean off.....Priceless.

Ok here you go....

This was not a first time kind of thing, but makes you glad it wasn't you kind of thing.

When my daughter, who is now 13, was a baby, she was sick often, ear tubes at 6 months, constant use of the nebulizer, antibiotics, etc.... Don't worry moms, she is made of steel now and hardly ever gets sick. Anyway, she had been on antibiotics and we all know what that can do to your stomach. I had just stripped her crib sheet and it was on the floor. I had her on the changing table and had the diaper off since she need a little airing out. At one point she sneezed and a stream of poop (very loose) went flying across the room. I jumped back and most of it hit the sheet on the floor and TG for that!! I was laughing so hard because, really, what else can you do. So with a hand on Jamie, tears rolling down my face and trouble breathing, I managed to get a new diaper on her and then I called in sick to work. I just couldn't face my co-workers who wouldn't appreciate the story as much as I did.
