Boys in my family have received a bible with their full name engraved on the front, a cross necklace. We've also given savings bonds, which is not a very good investment, but it is guaranteed - it's fun for the recipient to cash them on their way to college or whenever the bonds mature.

Last year I gave my son a rosary, made with the colors of his favorite football team (michigan - go blue!). He actually had to take a rosary into school today, because they are learning about it & he chose to take his michigan rosary! :)

good luck!

I enjoyed getting a gold cross on a chain but for a boy I would suggest a cross on a keychain he could put on his packpack.
In our area, we have a religious store you can visit: it had
*books (which i thought were neat...the humorous ones)
*bookmarks
*small "credit card" size notecards w/in spirational sayings
The rest, I felt would be discarded and a waste of time.
You could also give:
small giftcard to a local bookstore
small giftcard to iTunes

I know it's not the most personal gift but I always give money. Most parents have bank accts for their kids these days so it's always appreciated. Boys are kind of tough to buy for so that's my advice.

90% of my daughters guests gave her money, which she deposited in her bank account. Consider the parents, if they are the type to have an account for their child, then money is always great. If they are more the type to let the kids spend the money right away, then maybe a small gift card for a book store or itunes would be better.
