Dr. Poonawalla and Dr. Awatramani in Hoffman Estates take the state insurance. They are pretty good. We haven't been sick that often though.
My son is now eight months old and I have been through every angle possible trying to find him a pediatrition! I understand that I am on medical assistance, but how can they turn away a baby? Any suggestions would be greatly apprecitated!

I'm not completely certain, but I believe Vernon Hills Pediatrics (they're my doctor) takes Kidcare. I know they take AllKids, cause that's what I have.
Vernon Hills Pediatrics are in Vernon Hills and Gurnee.
Good luck!
Try Dr. Ermil Wagner in Round Lake. You should also be able to get a list from Kidcare. Unfortunately - there are fewer and fewer doctors in the program because they do not get paid and what they do get paid is a joke.
Hi, I live in Richmond, IL. I had Kid Care and I could not find a doctor that would treat my sick child. They told me to go to the emergency room. Yes, she was sick, but not enough to waste a doctors time on some one that really needed it! I called our old ped who does not take Kid Care but since we have been with them for 12 years and they new our situation as only temporary, they let us pay the fee portion that is not covered by insurance. I.E. I/O $175 the fee they bill the insurance company we only had to pay $68. They ate the rest. My daughter was seen immediately, given samples of meds (because they knew we could not afford store meds). She was treated by the doctor she knows and trusts. If you have a doctor you like and trust maybe they will work with you. Good Luck!
