Fiance's in the Hospital :(

I had to take my guy to the ER because he woke up this morning with sudden, disabilitating severe pain in his left leg. He couldn't walk, and his eyesight was severely blurred. He had a slight headache, but I think that's from his vision suddenly being impaired.

I had to come home to sit with the kids until my sitter can come back... any ideas as to what might be wrong with him?? My first thought was a TIA (mini stroke) but... with my medical background, I think too much. He's almost 39.

Worried :(

We could all make guesses at what it could possibly be, however, it would only be guesses.

You'll know soon enough after the doctors have a chance to monitor him for a while and run some tests.

Don't play doctor. Wait for facts and you will then be able to help him make good decisions.
Hang in there. I'm praying.

Gout is another posssibility that is a little less frightening. Especially when he woke up with it as that is often how a gout attack starts, Hope he is okay!

OH MY WORD!!! I'm sooooo sorry!!!!

This happened to one of my friends - he got bit by a spider - woke up with a HIGH fever, couldn't walk or stand - even apply any pressure to his leg, head ache and blurred vision....

it took him 4 weeks to recover fully - his leg got SUPER swollen. He was in the hospital for 24 hours.

Was he outside yesterday doing something? Is it possible there was a spider in the house? Brown Recluse? Allergic reaction to another type of bite? I've heard of the symptoms SIMILAR to Lyme Disease....my pseudo son (I've known all his life and spends a lot of time at my home) has Lyme Disease - they thought it was the flu at first because no one saw the red, round "target"...after 3 weeks of being sick - they FINALLY tested him for Lyme Disease...there are times he gets blurred vision, head aches and pain...

I truly hope and pray this is NOTHING serious...that it's something simple like a bite!!! Thoughts and prayers!!!

it could be anything, stress, an injury. typically if its a mini stroke, the entire one side of the body is effected. is there a family history of heart problems or stroke ?remain calm and try to remember things you might have over looked the first time around.. has he had a serious fall recently, bumped his head real hard on something that he didnt think was serious at the time. has he been really stressed ?keep us up to date, i gotta check on my roving tot
